Need to get the measurements .. width of strut and how much u want to shorten it .. I'd find a shock first before u shorten .. lol

Thought i should just pop a few pics on here to show what your getting minus bushes, bearings and wheel hub also the just about lows you can get with these coilovers (can go lower but the jack kept getting stuck lol)

I've left the front helper springs in so it will go much lower. Tyres were 155/70 r13 (standard) also the jack was stuck underneath on the other side lol. Gotta say since i've had these on for the past few months they've improved the handling a great amount and they pretty much eliminated body roll although the stiffnes of the shocks upsets a few of my passengers haha

Those are for a non shortened strut. I'll have a word with Gaz, they should be able to knock up some inserts like those but shortened. They don't like shortening things too much from my experience though.

I can get some B8 Bilstein monotube front inserts shortened with custom rates for about £350.

Yeah i did, i got the set from you :) but i also had to get the wheel bearings and a new set of front wheel hubs.

The monotube shocks you say you can get...How low could you run them and still retain a good amount of shock travle and i assume these would come with adjustable damping rates as i I have a set of billys at mine for seat ibiza which are same platform as mk1 golf up front with the PSS9 adjustable shocks, was going to convert these to run on the polo but would only drop the car 50mm which would be more than 40mm due to the higher rate springs ..

Think you've been misinformed, the ibiza (6k I assume) has the same rears as a Mk1 golf. Fronts are the same as a Mk2 Golf.

There are 3 options here,

Option 1, B8 inserts shortened. Can shorten them as much as you like essentially, and available as a pair, but as above they are expensive.

Option 2, get a monotube insert made up for a coilover converted polo strut, but there is a minimum order quantity of 10 and I'm not prepared to buy that as I know I'd only sit on 5 sets for years. At a guess, about £150 for a pair.

Option 3, I knock up a set of Mk1 Golf coilovers with a steering arm fabricated and welded onto the casing, mk3 polo spec springs, dampers and rear shock lengths. Would be made in the same factory as another well known brand (Not TA's) built to whatever spec. As above with the MOQ and ordering. It'd work out to be around £300 for the set with twin tubes.

The last 2 options I don't mind doing the work arranging them, but it would need to be run on a group buy basis. I might be able to get the MOQ down to 5, I'll have an ask.
