Featured Replies

How easy are they to change? Whats the easiest way to do them? I've only ever changed full wishbones before never just the bushes.

Think they are pressed in mate so if u know anyone with a bearing press its straight forward if not its a trip to a garage

Easiest way I found to get bushes out (and the most fun) is to burn them out with a blowtorch. Just abit smelly that's all.

For the front inners, You can get a tool to pull them out or fashion one your self! Just look online at the proper tool and bobs your brothers mother. Fitting just pop bit of fairy liquid or silicon spray etc round outside of bush and persuade it in.

Mk2 Golf style bushes? easiest method is to chop the inner out with a hacksaw, clean out the rubber to the steel outer ring, cut 2 slots through the steel ring, chisel out the strip and knock the rest of the bush out, theres a Guide by NigeP on ClubGti i think. you'll need a press/decent vice to get the new ones in.

you can use a long bolt a few washers a nut and a vice,to pull the old rubbers out and also to pull the new rubbers in with a rachet

oh yeah, and mild green fairy liquid lol

they did it on wheeler dealers once, never tried myself as i dont have a vice but it works
