hi guys i have a polo 9n 1.2 and i would like to know if a gti engine will fit? the 1.6/1.8 polo engine or the golf 1.8t to fit in it?

yes, they will. you can fit almost anything in a 9n.

the wiring will be your biggest headache though

The 1.6 wont be as impressive in the heavier 9n but it'll take a 1.8T or 2.0T and that would be worth having.

you think i will have to get another loom made??

there's no point trying to re-invent the wheel mate, you can already buy a 9n polo and seat ibiza from the same chassis type with a 20v turbo engine in there.. the best thing you could do is try and find a salvage one you can rip all the loom and fusebox etc out of along with the engine, gearbox and all the mounts and go from there...

tbh it's probably not worth the balls ache or expense of doing it and will cost more than just going out and buying that car to start with
