For Sale: 1972 Hillman imp Super 12 months MOT £2250 ovno

Gutted to see this car go. Its been my first real project and i have spent many cold night and days working on it. But i just cant cope hauling all my uni gear 140 miles in it. So here you go. I have bundles of paper work for the work done. and parts bought. Most of its there.

Location: Castle Donington, Derby

Spec:

Engine:

Rebuilt 875 L4 engine. All new bearings.

New balanced and re-ground crank and scroll seal.

All new seals.

New headgasket.

Block and head have both had their very first and only skim, so are perfectly straight. Head has just been re-shimmed and the engine is running as sweet as a nut and pulling like a train.

The engine believed to have covered 30000miles since leaving the factory and around 600 since the rebuild.

Also has fully rebuilt gearbox by Vince Frost. Nylatron ball cup also fitted for that extra smooth shift. Again only done about 500 miles.

High efficiency radiator.

Silicone Water hoses.

Motorbike Air Filter.

Denso Alternator, from I think it was a Daihatsu Cuore.

Pertronix Electronic Ignition.

Sports spec exhaust

Suspension, brakes and steering:

Monties front and back with fully adjustable AVO shocks, rears have covered 400 miles and the fronts have just gone on.

Competition rotoflexes, Done around 1000 miles.

Polybushed front wishbones

Colin Valentine Fiesta front disc conversion. Plenty of brake pad left.

Rear brakes were rebuilt when I got the car. Still a fair amount of pad left and the cylinders look spot on.

NOS steering rack fitted 250 miles ago. With new end boots and gaiters.

Fully adjustable fiesta track rods from IMP SPARES.

Bodywork and paint:

Paint is the only issues on this car. The paint tends to bubble up for no apparent reason its nothing to do with weather temperature or moisture its totally random. There are also a lot of chips around the car and of course the key mark along the passenger side which I have repainted with a chip stick to protect the metal.

Body work was fully restored by a previous owner so there isn’t a spot or rust on the car, minus a few tiny 5mm spots or surface where the paint has chipped. Easily treated.

Fibreglass bonnet also fitted to the car, painted matt black, again stone chipped but other than that its mint.

Engine lid is also painted matt black with custom grilles welded in.

The car is stoned chip protected all round about 15cm up along the sills, front and back. Each wheel arch and the underside of the car have seen lashings of Waxoyl underseal so fully protected.

The car will eventually need a respray which is the only downside to the car really.

Other Specs:

Comes with the cosmic alloys, all the tyres have plenty of tread. Along with the spare.

Fuel tank has been cleaned and painted.

The car will come with the mountings for the cd player and the speakers, but no hardware fitted as these will be transferred to another car. The wiring will remain so it’s an easy install.

Bucket seats. Drivers slightly worn.

Gradual Sun strip and Brand new front window seal fully water tight.

Interior bonnet release moved to driver’s side.

Electric Screen wash.

H4 halogen conversion with built in sidelights.

Doors could do with re hanging as they have dropped slightly.

Heated rear screen
