6N steering wheel

Featured Replies

I've bought an OMP steering wheel for my 6N, and obviously need to remove the standard steering wheel before I can fit the wheel and boss.

It's got an airbag so how do I disable this? I'd rather not blow my face off trying to remove it.

Also how do you get the steering wheel off? Does the cover over the airbag pop off, take the airbag out then remove a nut(s) from the centre spline?

Done a search but came up with nothing relevant.

Chars.

There is a guide on ukpolos.net you can look at but all you do is undo the two screws on the back of the wheel (these hold the airbag in place) unplug the bag and once you've got the airbag off you have one nut to undo.

disconnect you are battery too mate and leave for say 15 mins and then ull see it pretty straight forward mate.

1. Disconnect car battery and leave for 15mins.

2.There's 2 alan key screws behind the steering wheel, undo them and the airbag should pull out.

3.Put a flat bladed screwdriver between the plug on the airbag to prise it out.

4. Undo the wires for the horn.

5. Open the big nut that holding the steering wheel on, i think its a 24mm.

Hope that helps mate!
