Mk3 Polo Fox 1043cc - Metallic Blue

Featured Replies

Make :- Volkswagon

Model :- Mk3 Polo Fox

Engine Size :- 1043cc

Mot? No ended 6th May

Tax? Yes End of May

Mileage :- 86k

Colour :- Metallic Blue

Good Points :-

1043cc so very good on fuel

Good Daily Driver - Not let me down

All electrics work (Rear wiper, demister, washers, indicators, horn, cd player, heating)

Doesnt take too long to warm up and remains at a constant temp even with heaters on full blast, which is really good for cold mornings

Hasn't needed topping up with coolant throughout the winter (was topped up with antifreeze prior)

Very reliable, done 5k miles and all I've needed to do is slightly top up the oil and replace the alternator due to slight oil leak

Absolutely factory spotless battery tray

Metallic Paint - very rare on a fox

Mk3 centre console fitted

Mint parcel shelf in black

All locks on 1 key

Fitted with a GT Mk3 Steering wheel

Bad Points :-

Drivers Side window is factory green tinted, all other glass is clear

Speedo currently broken - Requires new speedo not entire clocks (Now replaced with GT clocks on close milage iirc 86k)

Exhaust blowing very slightly

Passenger Top Mount needs replacing soon

Outer CV or Wheel Bearing making slight noise on tight left-hand bends

Slight leak above alternator - most likely a quick 1/4 turn with a torque wrench

Needs slight topping up with oil every 1-2k miles due to small leak above alternator

replaced alternator recently but with incorrect item therefore tensioned via engine mount bracket and not tensioner bracket, can fit replacement if supplied and required.

Rust spots - nothing major, main bit is the passenger arch which could do with a replacement wing if your fussy or gt arch trims which can be included in the sale for a small fee, to cover up the rust.

Some laquer peel due to being metallic

Comments :-

Been using this as a temporary daily and life-line when i was doing my mk2 afh conversion, but thats happy as larry now, so this is up for sale to give me some drive space back.

edit :- had two engines in the back (at seperate times) and the car didnt miss a beat, been one of the best workhorses I've had and ill be sad to see him go

Driven into work today and ran absolutely fautlessly

Asking Price £200 no offers.

Telephone / Text Saf 07950 675 910

Extras that can be supplied :-

GT Early Spec Rear Lights

Coupe S Steering Wheel

Pics will be uploaded tonight/tomorrow.

Thanks

Saf

got a spare battery now that i can include for 20 quid on top of sale price,

will give away a set of gt doorcards with sale and will sell a pair of early gt spec rear lights for a KFC =]

someone give wee jimmy a home as it would be a shame to break him.

if anyone does want any parts, give me a shout and ill consider breaking

where are you based pal?i saw you in your yellow coupe(looks mint!) a few weeks back in bolton,i was in the red mk1,anyay cut a long story short the mk1 shells fooked(G40 runnin gear an my drivin style have ripped it apart) so need a solid mk3 shell with no sunroof to rebuild it into.i'll give you 150quid for it an you can have the engine interior an anythin else i dont need back if you wish.cheers-mat

if anyone is just after a shell i will sell for 150 quid as above but missing the following

gearbox mount - rear

horn

top rad hose

wheels swapped for mk1 polo standard steelies with road legal but old tyres

as I'm probably going to rob those bits for my mk1 polo that I'm building up.

otherwise 200 quid gets you a reliable motor that just needs a battery, horn connecting and some tape over the arch to pass an mot imo, I've been tempted to put him back on the road, as now more than ever due to my dailys gearbox dying, but i cant justify the 100 quid expense (40 quid mot 60 quid tax) despite the fact that I'm still paying insurance on him =/

someone save wee jimmy its unfair to break him =[

stick a battery on and you can drive it away tomorrow (as some have asked), but be advised no tax and mot, so it should be driven onto a trailer, if you do wish to risk it home, it is at your own discretion, i will backdate the v5 by 1 day, so any come-uppance doesnt land on my doorstep.

125 quid, and youd have to mot it yourself.

cars been in edinburgh its whole life, was owned last by my uncle, as a learner car for his son, and prior to that a male police officer.

hello mate is the car still for sale ? rather interested

yes it is

The lil beasties no longer required eh?

I'd buy it from you homeboy but what i'd do to it isnt worth it with the rare paint plus it would cost me the earth to get it home again :(

  • Author

yeti might be able to get it back to you cheaply, and meeshka, i ken its rare to get a fox in windsor blue, but it has some laquer peel, so really needs it cutting back and relaquering!

my mum wanted me to put it back together for my aunt but i was like fuuuuuuuuurk that

125 quid, otherwise its getting crushed at the end of september

125 quid, otherwise its getting crushed at the end of september

 dont kill it!

i'd have this but i have no job and wouldn't be able to afford the insurance (i'm an 18 year old male so guess why)

but surely before you scrap it you should sell it for its scrap value to someone

  • Author

125 quid is scrap value. I've got no qualms crushing it, i need to flag my drive and its currently taking up space, shame like as its been a freaking awesome car to me, and to my lil cousin and uncle who used it before.

poor wee jimmy!
