lowered my car on coilies few weeks back and decided i should get my tracking done today..

first garage charged 80 quid so walked away. second garage charged 12.50 (with a coupon!) but said they their machines wouldnt fit under the arches. third garage basically laughed at me and gave me a lesson in geometry and said i need to get the full geometry set up which would cost about 100 quid.. but they said blackport is the nearest place? dont even know where that is.

basically anyone have any recommendations on garages around Farnham, Guildford, Aldershot etc where i can get my tracking done without any hassle lol? Or is full geometry the way to go...?

your camber will be way out, so either DIY sort that out and do tracking, or get it fully aligned

yeah lol i already diy sorted out the camber and told the garage but then they said "why do u need tracking done then" and i said cos its clearly off because the rear wheels are facing different ways. they then said "thats camber mate..". then i walked off.. I'm gonna have to search for more garages haha

You won't "track" the rear wheels so to speak. The only way to adjust toe and camber on the rear of a 6n is by taking the stub axles off and using shims between them and the axle.

ok, so even a full geo wouldnt sort it out? I've been told about a place near me where they can do tracking so I'm gonna get that done i think. then maybe look into shims. lack of money atm tho haha

Only if you find a place that will shim the stub axles for you. Some places will do it, but not everywhere.

Does lowering affect the rear as it's on a beam and the stub acels are fixed into place As are the suspension mounting points therefore those components don't move When lowering rear?? I thought it was just fronts that need doing?

Lowering will affect the rear but don't worry about it. You'll get some camber but it looks good and won't wear the tyres down.

It's the fronts you need to worry about.

You can't sort the camber out by doing it yourself as you just won't get it dead straight. Tracking is a must to have done too.

It shouldn't cost more than about 50 or 60 quid to have tracking and camber done.

The problem is just finding somewhere that will do a low car!

You can do the camber well enough at home with a magnetic spirit level

k, ill sort out the front camber myself then get the tracking done. and ill ignore the rear camber . really appreciate the help :)

yeah mines the same i tracked mine up as i work in a bodyshop and the rear toe was out but camber was in but the axle had a little bit movement on the chassy so u can sor it out if its not far away.

i also had to get front camber somewhere near just by eye as its a chew on doing it when its up a height on the ramp with wheels on
