Aftermarket steering wheel horn

Featured Replies

Right well I've got an OMP wheel and boss to go on my polo, the horn button has two connections on the back, one of them the boss will wire up to but what wires up to the other connection?

Could probably work it out tommorow when I take the wheel apart but for now I'm not sure.

Thanks in advance.

right well my momo wheel has like a spigot ring that sits inbertween the wheel and boss which has a male adapter on it which you connect the other 1 onto so I'm not sure if urs is the same but if it is then simple as pie mayte

Well the OMP boss came with the spigot thing too but it doesn't have the connection on it, but with the boss I also got a wire with one end having a spade connector and the other end just wire so I guess I need to connect the end of the wire to the spigot thing and then the spade connecor to the other horn button connection.

its an earth or something mate...just connect it to the spigot ring, thats what i did on my raid wheel

Yeah it's just abit odd I would if thought they'd make it so it hade a spade connector on it instead of just wrapping it around on it.

just crimp another spade conecter on the other side of the wire mayte thats what i did

Yeah but there's nothing to connect it then to the spigot ring, the spigot ring doesn't have an adapter on it. I've just wrapped the wire around the ring now anyway so it all good.

oh fair enuf or you could get the solder gun out but if it works it works

I fitted an OMP wheel today. I connected the wire inside the boss to the short connector on the horn button, the other wire I connected to the long connector on the horn button, then placed it down the middle of the steering tube (where the little hole is on the threaded part the centre nut attaches to) with the exposed wire showing. Works fine. The other wire you get in the kit just needs to be grounded on something metal attached to the car.

jut pin it under the main spline nut thats what i did before i got my male connector spigot ring

just get about 6cm of wire put a female spade on one end for the back of the horn push and then just put the other end under the main spline nut as you do the boss up and hey presto connect the 2 (one from the boss and one from what youve just pinned) attach them to the back of the horn push and roberts your mothers brother
