nice, was it hard to take the seats out? I'm thinking of doing that

Easy as pie mate.

Slide seat back - Undo 10mm nut and bolt and remove

Slide seat completely forward and remove plastic covers on the runners (they pop off/out)

Then carefully slide seat back off the runners and remember to disconnect wiring if you have heated leather

looks fantastic!

this one probably is worth a 4500 price tag

Certainly was worth the effort lol, nice getting in the car now and it being so fresh and new feeling, atleast now I can keep on top of keeping it clean easily.

You serious about the 4500? :-p thats prob the best compliment i've had bud cheers lol

Haven't updated for a while, bit of a bad month for the poor GTi :-( Starting off with this....

16052010294.jpg

1: The central locking stopped working

2: This meant every time you unlocked the car using the key in the door, if u didn't get in and start it within a few second the alarm would go off like you've stolen it!

3: The immobiliser box had a fault on it where if the battery went flat or I just didn't do anything about it, it would lock out and I would need to buy a new box from VW costing in the region of £899 + VAT :?

4: Motion sensor button was flashing indicating a fault

So off the box went to be "remapped", then coded back to my car, central locking and alarm sorted out, and a spare key cut and coded :-D I also have the pin code to the box now and the key numbers etc if I ever need them / lose my keys they can cut it by punching in the number into the machine.

Anyway all back on the road....

And then this happened...... :x

Rather that than the sump I guess but still, not a very nice sound when it happened, was reversing into my garage :-(

Fixed

Replaced this today, one window switch didn't work and the trim was broken

S7003647.jpg

Sadly still scratched up handles like most vags with the stupid soft touch plastic do lol

30052010458.jpg

Also replaced the sun visor as I ended up ripping it off when I did the interior valet lol

Then a few bits turned up in the post.....

And finally these..... an absolute bargain and also came with:

Toyo's

Adaptors and bolts

Locking Wheel Nut's

Not sure whether to fit them as they are of not yet, or a colour change or to sell them on I'm undecided?! But they were worth buying for the price I got them for 8-)

DSC02841.jpg

Also got hold of a bonnet bra for it too but all these things haven't really made it on to the car yet as it started raining when I got the car back on the road after the immobiliser fault :-(

Watch this space :-D

lol after I put the coilovers on it used to scuff its way around the roads as most of the roads in this area are completely totalled!

so was a long time coming tbh

FLOL at "decat"

Cheers for the praise mate, I'm rather happy with it but still got loads to crack on with as I'm fussy with cars!

Sadly yes!

I had 7" front and 8" rear on my old ibiza cupra, but these were a bargain price and had adaptors and toyo's so cant moan I guess!

fitted all 4 wheels yest and sorted out the coilovers so didnt rub too much. will post up pics later :)

if they rub, roll the arches :)

Just done my rears as it was doing my head in. No noise at all now and the paint didnt crack :)

I like the Built not Bought sticker.

Anyone know where i can get a Bodged, not bought / Bodged, not built one from?

also, at Decat!

I really wanna lower it more :( but the drivers rear rubs badly on the metal bit near the bumper bracket :(

How did u get on rolling them yourself?

Yup where mine rubbed.

Most annoying sound ever!

I didnt roll them myself, had banded steels come around and do them for me!

Just the rears as the fronts are fine. 50 quid for two.

Been quoted less from the bloke who did the respray so might get it done! Need the rear dropped again 8-)

what you waiting for then you goon!

 neil ftw.... I hate the fact I have near on half of the threads left on the front coilovers from the bottom but it already scrapes savagely as it is :-(

At least your coilovers haven't popped like mine!

I've just blown some dollar on a new set with adjustable damping!

My rears I've got about a inch spare thread, Fronts its more like 2 - But god knows how you'd use your car if fronts were wound all the way down!

Right update time!!

Replaced a fog light grill

04062010531.jpg

Because of this

DSC02980.jpg

As for the D90's I trialed them first to see whether I would be keeping them, along with mudflaps on or off

04062010522.jpg

Mudflaps didn't look right, so up in the air it went!

06062010582.jpg

On with the adaptors / spacers

06062010583.jpg

06062010584.jpg

They do need fresh paint as the "refurbishment" he assured me of was far from superior to say the least, so got a partial refund on them which made them more worth the price :-D thanks to the missus for improving the centre caps until I get hold of some metal crested ones for the refurb

DSC02981.jpg

DSC02985.jpg

Gave them a bit of lacquer afterwards and they came out ok! :-)

Cleaned with Meguiars Soft Wash Gel, Wheel Cleaner, Water Magnet, RainX'd, Tyre Dressing etc

06062010586.jpg

And the final result ;)

Agree with that, don't paint them!

Looks good, would have left the bonnet bra and wheel whores sticker off though. Two fads I've never liked

Thing is they need painting to be up to my standards and the cars condition :-( so going to do them a similar colour, still staying gunmetal but have a few colours in mind 8-)
