Ok so... Polo needed a few bits of paint work doing so I got busy!

Anyone want to swap the colour coded boot badge for a standard one?

While stripping the bumper down, didn't realise how delicate and brittle the insert is !

Thanks to the local SEAT dealer

Sourced a set of rear delocked handles and seals!

Rear inserts, and finally the washer caps to be painted

Surprising how filthy the car gets in a week or so parked up!

A week, and everything was all done had the number plate holes and recess smoothed out, makes the front look so much nicer imo

Put the all red rears back in, made my mind on these up now, anyone want these cheap?

Contacted Lamin-X again for some gunsmoke film and "smoked" out the led board section of the Hella's

"Smoked/Tinted one on the right"

Both done with flash

Wheel Update

Rushing the measurements doesn't pay, ordered studs for the adaptors as I want to convert from rusty bolts to shiny lug nuts

They are back in the post again, should have the correct size soon lol

Ordered some Sealant and got busy with my cleaning bag of tricks

They may have been freshly machined but you cant beat a good clay bar!

Had the alignments checked out on the local super dooper laser machine thing. Corrected the tracking & tow on the front which was a fair bit out!

After all the effort, time and money.....

I was putting the last wheel in the car, had a clumsy and being to careful moment.....

Dropped the wheel stood up on a harsh floor from height

Underneath

Damaged lip

Above where it hit

Wheel (See bottom)

Not going to lie, pretty gutted to say the least, looking into different options on how to rectify the fuck up.

Just keeping this thread alive to be honest.....

Remember my odd wheels, Well I now have matching ones....

Went about removing the near illegal wheels/tyres, who needs a jack anyway

These tyres looked like they came out of a cartoon or something which caused some major rubbing

Raised the car 15 turns to prevent this, its given it the most boring uninspiring look

Got lucky on ebay - 1 x 7J D90

Refurbishment company got in there head I only wanted the lip diamond cut, *sigh*

Focused on my centre caps while this was being sorted!

For those who can't remember I sold the originals:

As I wanted these:

I lost the eBay auction lol, but managed to get a tatty second hand set and went about mirror polishing them myself, I used:

400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1500, 2000 wet and dry paper, hot soapy water, meguiars metal polish and microfibre cloths

Final Sand

Can anyone guess which one I polished first?

They all came out excellent, good results from a bit of time and patience!

Some more metal caps for the wheels...

Another plate holder to match the rear to mount the front plate

Removed and split the boot badge, bored of the colour coded look

And the wheel arrived back for the third time :)

Got a "to do" list now on the car and quite excited about getting it all done and near on finished

But in the mean time I will be keeping it in good shape as always :-D

It indeed mate, I copied this thread over the SWDubs as I will try and use that forum a bit more now as well seens its a local one! gives people an insight of whats been done to it if they see it driving locally.

Btw did you get your tracking, toe and camber done at Gupa P? If so, make sure that your steering rack boot's aren't twisted...they left mine and 2 other mates twisted, leading mine to rip

I did yeah bud but the Tavistock one, they only checked the rears as obviously no adjustment possible there, and the fronts did the track rod adjusting etc, I was underneath the car with the bloke anyway as I knew him and wanted to look underneath while it was up there! Had a new CV boot the last MOT actually!

Thanks for the warning though! I always keep my eyes peeled for grease when I change wheels running my cars as low as they are

I checked out the meets section earlier mate 14:30 isn't it? Because I need to be in Bristol that day by 5pm as I'm on holiday for 2 weeks bad timing but I'm sure there will be more meets coming up, when the cars more presentable!!
