Will 175/70/R14's fit 16v alloys? May be a dumb question, but if they do I could save myself a fair bit of money!

they will fit, but they will probably look a bit rubbish, as they arent very low profile, even when compared to the stock 185/55s

Okay, well I can pick up four brand new for £45 so id save myself around £100 if I get some budget 185's?

if you want cheap, go for a set of 165/60s, they will at least look half decent. 175/70s are way too big, it'll look daft

Or 185/60's

175/70-14s are absolute balloons,must be off a basic big saloon or the like,you wont be lowering it far on them.

185/60-14 are better (standard late '80s Golf GTi and Escort XR3i size),and you can get them real cheap too.
