Use a hammer and flat bladed screwdriver mate haha doesn't sound like the brightest idea, but has worked for me in the past, and i think you will struggle otherwise!

yea that should mate as I've a c spanner for my coilys so it should work it looks the exact same.

I very much doubt that would work, mainly due to the fact i've never seen coilies on a push bike before! Just cause its the same shape doesn't mean its the right size!

Be carefull as you can get diff size c spanners so the last thing you want to do is buy the wrong size.

But using a hammer and flat head screwdriver he means place the head of the screwdriver in the notches of the locking rings on the coily then just hit the screwdriver to unlock the ring. If that is your coily above matey, wack some grease on it once your done as that looks pretty dry.

as car is jacked up n gotta go out in an hour :p

the bottom one is the locking nut so first undo that one, then adjust the top one. then do the locking one back up. cant remember which way, guessing left to loosen? but just try it and should be fairly obvious

give the thread a good wire brushing and all of it a dowsing in wd40 then have another go.

Get loads of GT85 or WD40 onto it and let it soak for a day...that should help.

Once you get it to move,adjust them to the height you want then cover the

remaining threads in copper grease.That'll help keep the rust off of the threads

and make it easier for you to adjust the next time you want to...

Yes that metal arm as you call it is the shock absorber dude.....beneath the locking nut you have loads of those litle ridges that go around the whole circumference of the shock they are the threads dude.

sorry, didn't check back. But yeh, those gold plates are lock rings (imagine them just as nuts on a bolt) and they are on the thread. You need to turn the bottom one right, as if you are tightening, to move it down. Put a chunky screwdriver into one of the slots in the lock rings, and hit it with intention of turning the whole lock ring right, and down the thread if that makes sense ha.

They do seize up when left for a while with dirt etc., so as said above a good soak in wd40 will help, and motorbike chain wax is good to protect them. C spanners are available on ebay and i'm sure it would turn up pretty quick
