Ok today! started off going dubunit to get a gt gearbox for 30squid thanks to mugley off this forum.

Then halfords to get some alpine white spray paint , sand paper and plastic bumper spray.

then got home to have gav6n to arrive with my freedash and indicators! thanks alot gav appreciate it mate.. ever need anything let me know!

then me and clarke89 started workong on the wee polo..

We fitted the dash , lower passenger dash and centre console and clocks

also made a 4speed rubber gaiter work with a 5 speed clip thingy!

I then started to work on finding somewhere for my boost gauge! and because this car used to be strppied out full and had no pipes going to the front air vents! so i set it so i could only use the window air vent! so then i had no need for the air vent option dial. So i hacked away at it literally haha and fitted my boost gauge into it which I'm rather proud off haha

Then me and clarkey started on the engine bay , we both sanded a side down and got rid of abit of the rust ..lol not to fussed really as I'm reshelling it in july! i then startyed to spray the bay and clean a few things up like the engine mout , coil pack etc while clarkey.. sat on my nice mk2 golf seat and moanded at how tired he was haha

oh and yesterday i found a hole by the filler cap , so sorted that out a we bit of filler haha

ugh, i dont fancy seeing that insulation tape on the loom after a few outings in the rain!

Get some hockey stick "grip" tape. Looks like loom stuff and just as good!

the extinguisher is there just because it come with car there haha , I'm taking it out when it goes on the road. And hide one under panneger footwell :)

Theres also a ignition cut off key under passenger footwell. Shame my passengers are going to have easy access to it while I'm driving :@

Engine has new clucth , pressure plate and thrust bearing. Gearbox is ON

Starter motor is ON

Enegine is ready to be dropped , will be running tomorro :)

had it running for a few days now, and i must say its quick. But theres a rattleing coming from the engine. So while I'm checking that out and awaiting for parts to arrive I've got the loom back out to tape up properly and got the dash out to put in properly.

Me and my mate kane got the engine in in a day.

hes did boost pipes and collect while i did gear linage shafts , wiring , charger , and many more bits.

Got it running thanks to a freind who hates me (si wilkes) lol and it was ready to go..

i was diriving it about a day and all off a suden it would suddenly die , we then found out this is because the alternator is fucked and not holding its charge. And then the oil pressure light started going the game , so i check out to see if the pumps working etc which it is so i assumed it was the sendors , so i carryed on driving it around.

Then i notice a rattleing noise from the bottom end , and instantly shit my self so stopped driving it and pulled the sump off to check underneith , but all is good apprently. So sump is now back on with new gasket and gasket seal. I went over almost every bolt in teh engine and ill be honest a engine mount come loose haha , this is due to it not having a spacer on top and its all sorted now. Everything is tight, driveshaft bolts are lock tightend in aswell as the new pressure plate bolts.

I then took out my engine loom to give it a going over and a nice new retape as tbh the hob i did 1st was just a mess! i also whiped the dash back out as it was viberating like fuck. so i wanna try and sort that out.

I'm now awaiting for my alternator to come back from ces with a nice new refurb so theres no power problems , But that still leaves me with the oil pressure problems. So as soon as the alternator is back , everything is going back togher PROPERLY and its going to be sorted. Oh and the ratlle coming from the engine? was the dam heat sheild above gear linkage as far as I'm away , so i just took it off haha

anyway more updates tomorro off loom back in and dash back in :)

i often check through your build, as its interesting, but i often dont have anything interesting to add as a reply, so dont!

Are you still getting funny noises from the engine? what spark plugs are you running?
