jake_smith's NEW project g40 track slag ;)

Looks like a good little build mate. Does the oil pressure light still come on? I'm pretty sure the wires are the other way round on my g40, blue on the right, yellow to the left (looking at engine from front). hope this helps! Keep up the work!

Looking good dude - been following this since the start and thought I'd already replied. Fail. :(

Gonna be quite different to how it used to be isn't it!

i love how if its not got split rims and its not smoothed people dont care..

did you build the car so you could get ego-boosted by forum whores or did you build it cos you wanted a fun and reasonable fast car?

if the 2nd option, why are you so worried if people leave comments or not?

i often check through your build, as its interesting, but i often dont have anything interesting to add as a reply, so dont!

Are you still getting funny noises from the engine? what spark plugs are you running?

Well just a few replies would have been nice like ;)

But yeah , no funny noises mate. Was the go dam heat sheild at the bottom of the bulk head!

And everything is running as it should no :) andd i cant rember the code for them. Ill have a look tomorro for you , i know there the right ones though..

But yeah the car is now finished. Ill get end result photos up tomorro. The only thing left is bits and bobs of the interia.. but this is no biggy.

and alex , so much diffrent compared to a 1L spi mk3 ;)

Nice to know i can put my foot down in 5th at 30 and shift pretty quick still!! haha

Thanks for the replys :)

the heatshields always seem to work loose. on said about the plugs incase the noise you were hearing was pinking. this can easilly happen during boost if the wrong plugs have been fitted

Nice car man, g40's rule! Will have to meet up in cannock at some point. Will be nice to have two g40's out.

this is rapid i was in it tonight ;)

haha yeah man will meet up soon.

Considering selling it?! Why can i ask? Just why?

Btw i have been following this thread and it has come along nicely.

Much respect man

cheers man , well i only have to get 3 points and i loose my licence.. so i am considering selling it!

Great work mate howd you go about learning about what to do with engine conversions you just read up as I'm gonna attempt one next year and know a little but not much lol

everything you need to know is on this forum , but you learn as you go along. everything is plug and play with a g40 conversion into a mk3. unless its into a 4 speed mk3 then you need a 5sp anti roll bar.

did this sell in the end?

yeah its sold. Just this second got back from collecting my 6th white mk3 polo ;) , g40 time again , yet its going into a MUCH MUCH MUCH cleaner shell.
