how much for the rear lights posted to ni?

original thread now updated with guide prices

i guess postage to NI would be between £5-10 depending on how fast you want them

Can you get the plastic heater hot/cold control off the car?

shouldn't be a problem if you give me til the middle of the week to get over - do you mean the bit with the levers that the cables connect to behind the dash or just the plastic surround. pic of the bit you mean would be useful.

cheers

let's say a tenner for the bootlock and key but it'll have to wait a couple of weeks as the only key is being used for the door locks/ignition so we need that to keep the car rolling

will the exhaust fit any mk2 saloon

not sure man - i'm sure if you have an ask on here then somebody will know. i'll jack the car up mid week and see how it attaches, then take a photo or two - how's that sound?

these coilovers what was the ride like when they were fitted

  • Author

to be honest - i only rode in the car for about 10-15 miles whilst it was towed back to my mate's garage. i was more intent on not ploughing into the back of the tow car rather than the ride and comfort!

it is decked on it's arse at the minute (too low for getting on a trailer) so there's room to "increase the comfort" ;)

the guy we bought it off was pretty happy with the ride and handling. they're still on the car btw, so we can rollit in and out the garage. hope that helps

quick update:

spent a few hours on the first wave of the stripdown tonight. gonna head back and finish it off tomorrow eve.

chris - coilovers are promised so far and there's a couple of people on the reserve list too. i'll let you know should they become available.

took the rear lights off this evening, there's very small (2mm ish) chip out of the driver's side tailight. the passenger is spot on. i'll knock a fiver off the lights in view of that.

didn't look at the condition of the boot seal but it's definitely still there.

had a closer look at the interior tonight as i was pulling it out - it's in really good nick, the doorcards are spot on and the seats have no wear marks, rips or tears but do need a clean. carpet is mid/light grey and it's had mats down so there are no bald patches etc. the headliner is mint but will probably be a b**ch to get out undamaged.

mrbenpolo - the cherry bomb came off tonight along with the rest of the exhaust. the bomb looks "the bomb". my mate who's stripping the car with me fell in love with it but i told him it had your name on it. it's welded to the centre section tho so you'll have to either weld the centre section stub to your existing centre section or sleeve it with a section of larger diameter pipe and a couple of clamps.

got the plastic sill covers off intact which i was quite surpised about. dash is now out too.

coilies stayed on tonight as we wanted to roll the car around but will be off by the end of tomorrow when i'll update this thread with fresh photos and get in touch with folk who expressed an interest in various parts

easy now
