Got a ASY engined 9n polo 1900 sdi with running problem,

Suddlenly started running rough and cut out, will re-start but smokes white smoke badly and wont rev over 1500rpm.

And as far as were aware there isnt any petrol in the system.

Any advice or tip would be muchly appreciated thanks

sounds like fuel pump problems to me, could be completly wrong though
