I've never noticed that actually not entirely sure .. That is quite obscure he diddnt have a CB in the car . Might ask him and see I'm intreuged

i got left the money for my first car by my arnty, she always had vw so it seemd fitting that that was were the money should go into, so it being my first car the look good with very lil done so a good one to do over time

My uncle always bought Ford, same as my Dad and one day in the early 80's

he sold his Cortina 2000E and came back with a Mk1 Scirocco Storm...as soon

as i sat in that car i fell in love with it.Eventually bought a Mk1 Storm of my

own and after owning a few Ladas and Fords and have only bought VW since...

i'm not quite sure why or when i started liking vw's  but i've liked early golfs for ages, then i saw a certain golf looking car (sort of like a golf mk2.5) around dronfield a few times (it is quite a small place tbh :o ) and found out it was a polo coupe mk2f from the internet, i then joined clubpolo 8-) ,found the car and its owner a couple of months in purely by mistake and i've wanted a coupe ever since ;)

cos dan took me out in his g40 when iwas like 15 and that was it i was hooked lol

A mate took me out in an early Fiat Uno turbo and i had to have one - but by the time i could afford it there were none left.

As for the aerial, there are various reasons - my dad had one on his cars, fitted by the fire service, for his radio equipment. Whilst the car was always his,and his choice of car,it was used in emergency to get to fires (had air horns and magnetic blue beacon for the full Starsky & Hutch effect, only using an MG Maestro).

always liked the mk2 gti at school but when i passed my test the insurance was about 2k so i had to settle for a mk1 astra for a year, then upgraded to a mk2 stra then came the mk2 8v gti. i have never looked at anything else but would still have a mk1 astra again for a winter car. had 8 VAG cars on the road throughout my driving years and my G40 being with me now for about 6 years. i would rate the pre 95 dubs as very reliable, fair enough some had there problems but most were sound. i have only ever bought 1 dub that is under 100k which is a lupo all the rest have been 100k+. 100k is a dub just run in to me. my g40 has 235k on an original block and has always got me from A to B even with 2 fried pistons and cracked head.
