any of us has a Polo problem the rest all do their best to help out.

+1 for the saf appreciation society  absolute leg end!

i give homage to my boy nige, who isn't on here, but is more than a legend, more an institution! Hes helped me tinker with every watercooled dub i've had!

I'm more an aircooled guy tho, so if anyone needs a bug slamming or engine tinkering give me a holler!

Steve

I've met a few awesome guys through the dub scene, big up yourselves!

Just to add, Gozzard-Coupe and Grungeisdead have both given me good advice in the past and have been really approachable, along with many others on this forum.

no worries dude, tbh max annoyed me at first asking seemingly stupid questions, but he takes all the information in, and then enjoys replying to the many frequently asked questions, which is good, cos it helps the nooblets, and spreads the wealth of good information

grungieisdead and AD G40.

I bow to thee only.

 Saf has halped me loads in the past so has Charlie , Karl_ClCoupe & Yeti back then i was a bit less hands on and now fully understand what its like when your "helping" someone but really putting all the effort in yourself .. To be honest back then it was a confidence thing for me and the best way i learnt was by just throwing myself at the task's set for myself .

I must thenk you guys though cos u kick ass and my car wouldnt be the way it is now iff it wasnt for you :D

haha you know where we are matt just give us a holla.

and stevie, never a truer word has been spoken. glad to see you got the confidence you needed to get stuck in, you do lose the fun if you end up doing all the work for someone else with no sense of gratitude or sometimes just a bit of help! but like you've said its the confidence you build up through having mates help you, whove been there before that makes your own plans possible.

i wouldnt be where i was today without the help of countless people on people both on the forums and in person, the best bit of advise i can give is read up as much as possible. the best answers come from the best questions. but 9/10 times if you come armed with detailed information and have actually had a look, local people will come lend a hand, after all were all after one goal, keeping our lil polos on the road and looking sweet.

anyway man, maybe time to let bygones be bygones, next down I'm down in derb we should catch up for a j and you can get your machine polishing flex on the peril, its crying out for some stevie davison ocd cleaning flex =D

IDE mArry saf if it was legal to marry holy figures

thou shall not worship false idols =P

ant mate you've helped me so mcuh with the carbs and just being a general clungedodger, nufty respect

Have to agree, the Safmon is a full on leg-end :-D

cheers mr derv dubbya =D

ahhh ol pidge, no sir, still playing the bump starting game =[

if it wasnt for me, safamons yellow beasty would still be faceless :)

well it would have had a face, just with a monkey sticking out of it haha

absolute legend for that dudeface, and the volvo owner who came onto the mk1 polo forum to tell us about the car that was being broken at his local scrappy was a winner too.

neil cant getover how flipping much of a spitting image you are of your old man.

i swear it just sounded like a duff battery? not putting enough power out?

but still getting charged...

well we stuck my battery on which has been starting mine OK and my alternators putting out 14v so would be giving it a decent charge, but even with that it was a no-go.

not to keen on this grungeisdead guy but meh :/ every 1 has different views

Iv met a good few guys through the scene, and made a lot of friends in the process.

I too am in the "We love grunge" society :smoke:

I'm always up for giving a helping hand, although tbh I'm normally the n00b that makes the tea's 8-)

Nah, i adore him really. always up for playing with cars is the mechaphile formally known as Saf

fuckin ditto!!

i'm a complete noob when it comes to cars. anyone helps me out or does something to the car for me will get unlimited tea/coffee/biscuits and then probs a crate (of beer/lager/cider etc) and some money for their time.

anyone in / near sheffield?

could do with a bonnet re-spray at some point (as i'm proper skint atm) (as the guy who did it for me either didn't 'bake' it or laquer it or something so the paint is really soft)

depending on what happens with insurance, i might need someone for dent pulling and spraying (passenger door and rear panel)

Feeling the love in this thread. :)

Loved safbot from the 1st moment I spoke to him on the phone and invited myself to sleep on his sofa so I could go pick up my Derby the next day. And Karlamon, my little vagabond scourser adopted brother...awww

And there the adventures began- we've had wheel bearing fails X 2, some ace nights out, jokes at loomes scrappy, (mazda with brains on the headlining anyone?) hassle from cheshire's finest constabulary, pizzas (remember Mama Skags) gearbox and engine swap fun and games...and now we've moved unit the next stage shall commence. By the way Saf it all started over 3 years ago now..fuuuuuckked up!

Right, who wants fun and games in Notts this Saturday afternoon?? New unit paaarty! Might even do a bit on Dennis Derb. :)

Ah that reminds me, massive thumbs up to Charlston kitten there, for mooching down to Colchester to drive my old loon back for me - woop!. And Stevie boy for driving the courtesy French fail-gane

Not really spoken to grungeisdead but all I hear is positives about his help.

safs very helpful but he's also a sexual predator, you have been warned

Dude iff I'm doing it il do it propperly ;) Cant be doing a half arsed attempt gotta be perfect

Nothin like that, also found not all 'dubbers' will help, majority will though so a thanks to them

why should ALL dubbers help?

i dont mind helping anyone IF they can help themselves otherwise theres no point in wasting your time and energy as your otherwise your being used as a free resource for something that should cost you alot of money for skilled work.

Quite ironic mr saf. You helped me and i often struggle to fight my way out of a paper bag  Huuuuuuge respect dude. You didnt really see much of springfest as you were busy helping me :) Same to Yeti and the random guy with the tools.

Have to agree, the Safmon is a full on leg-end :-D

As for helping out, I'll do whatever really, just like to get stuck in and help, though suspension seems to be becoming a specialty of mine

Fancy giving me a hand when i change mine? Piss up one weekend?
