Hey all... My first post on here... Just turned 17 and recieved my folks' N reg polo. Got a tight budget so don't really wanna spend more than £300 for new wheels and tyres so a set second hand by the looks of it. Wondered what size I have to get though to fit it as I'm not terribly good with these things but I know what will look good :) and also I won't be able to send them back if they don't fit if I'm getting them second hand. I'll load a few pics of it if when I figure out how to reduce the file size, My plans are (after exams finish *sigh*) Take the rubbing strips off, debadged grill, debadge the rear completely, clear indicators and tint the rear lights. oh and get the nasty dent out the back out hopefully!

Pictures? take a look in the classifieds to get a rough idea, they will tell you what car it's off so pretty apparent if they are going to fit or not, unless they used adapters, but then they would usually state.

Okay well what you want to do it create a photobucket account.. http://photobucket.com/

Upload your pictures onto that (you can select multiple pictures by holding the "Ctrl" button)

Then once they have uploaded, go to your album and put your cursor over the picture and you will find a pop up at the bottom of the highlighted picture come up and you want to copy and past the bottom link into your post (begins with "" and have shown you in the picture i provided below) .. job done...

Yeh half is T-Cut and half isn't. It's the same colour now Nah Re-spray is too expensive and I'm on a budget. It's a great base though only done 45k one owner and I know the owner some old bloke that pretty much stops for potholes and bumps in the road, always been serviced in a VW garage so yeh great car. I'm gonna keep posting pics up of it as it progresses. So by the end of this week it'll be debadged, clear indicators, no bump strips, couple of spots of rust taken off, and smoked rear lights. The aloys are gonna be a killer, trying to find a set fairly cheap but will suit it. Would LOVE some Deep dish 15's. The steelys are awful though lol. Have a feeling it'll turn out top and really enjoying having my 1st car... T-cutting was even a joy to do as it's my pride 'n' joy :)

If I'm honest mate, i would get it low before you get wheels, as you can always just spray your steels or stick some pimping hubcaps on them as there is nothing worse that a polo on nice wheels but it's sky high.

That's the thing bud... where I'm from.... I live on a rock also known as "The Isle of Arran" a 50 mile round island off the west coast of scotland where having a lowered car is a dreadful Idea because of getting on and off the ferry also the roads are terrible :( but to be honest it just wouldn't be to my taste having the steelys sprayed and "pimping hubcaps" on them lol. Thanks though bud.

hmm maybe as a temporary thing I'll spray my steelies... What colour where you thinking? going for a smooth look... But not sure what colour would go well. Red? Black? White? Or borrin silver lol?

Yeh they look sweet but that's on a white car... on a red car... not so sure :S

white and red go lovely together. i have sprayed steels, they are matt black in centre with red lip. looks pretty funky but I'm looking to change them. white is prob what ill do. i have the same colour as u only 3 door.

as it turns out my old man reckons they need shot blasting first and no where on this island does it and not worth taking a set of steelies to the mainland to get shot blasted to keep me going till I get alloys so your safe there

just spray em black. hides quite alot.

yeah man just sand them down with some wet n dry, prime and then desired colour, i can't stand black wheels peronsally.

Also good job on yours samykate, will look pucker once white

The white 6n with white steel was just an example for you dude to show you how awsome they look.

Maybe you should do red centre with white lip

keep those eyepeepers open. I got my gold (shiny lipped) BBS RS's for £90, they were off a mazda mx5 but the spacing is the same.
