Hello there guys I'm new to the ways of the Polo and in a bit of rut.

I want to lower me Coupe but not slam it just so the rides a bit stiffer, With my Jetta I was after a straight forward slam easy to acheive..... Coilovers and it was down.

But I noticed on the Polo the steering is attached to the suspension etc etc. What would you guys reccomend? And what sort of problems do I have to watch out for e.g. Camber/Allignment?

Springs and dampers will set you back from £120, that will get you -40f/-40r. PhilJ on here does kits, and they are available on the bay too.

Just done my lads coupe, ended up replacing the track control arms, wheel bearings, and tie rods due to them all being fooked. Plus you need to completely remove the front legs to replace the springs and damper inserts. All originals, car done 86k.

If you end up replacing tie rods you will defo need the tracking checking. As the steering is on the lower half of the struts -40 should be ok, any lower may cause wear issues on the tie rods

i'd got for 40mm springs on the front (fine with std shocks if they are still in good condition. if you are on a tight budget you can swap the oil in the shocks for something thicker (you can only do this if they are still in original condition, as when they are replaced, shock inserts are used (on the oe setup the strut is effectively the shock body) a lot of volvo 340 modders use this method)

a ged lower brace will make the worth of difference. it fits in front of the arb, using the un-used sump guard mounting points.

I made my own out of a bit of old pipe!

would leave the back std ride if you dont want to go low, it gives a nice stance this way. gone down this route with a couple of my polos.

Cheers Phil & Jon. One last question sorry guys... Does the the new shocks fit into the steering arm or are they attached already? That lower brace is pretty bad ass will defo look into that if it makes a difference.
