Is it just me or does anyone else like this, i sore and thought wow thats actually not to bad, seems a little based on the ford but i guess how different can you make pickups?

1st attempt at a pickup? What about the caddy lol.

I like it tho, although Id rather just buy an old hilux or something. I cant see them selling many tho, looks a bit fancy for a workhorse.

its alrite, just looks like every other pick up with the new vw style front end and a vw badge.

I cant really see vw selling enought to make it worth while, maybe they are aiming it at the us market.

I think its cool tbh.

Haha aye we have the TDV6 touareg with all the roof bars etc and its pretty much just like a big golf :p

In the '50s VW sold a legendary pickup,which was updated heavily over the following few decades.

In the '80s VW sold different types of pickups from little two seaters to big crew cabs,sports editions to 4x4s.

In the '90s VW sold pickups based on the Toyota Hilux range.

Since then they've progressed their commercials from Felicia-derived mini pickups to alloy sided chassis cab units.

They've always made pickups.

This new one for 2010 is the only VW pickup of the long heritage that i cant stand. Its too Chelsea tractor for me to stomach,and puts me right off the idea to consider a basic version for work. It'll impress the schoolboys until they're sat in front of one at a junction in the dark,blaring its headlights through the windows of an entire row of cars because the headlights are far too high.

same for any kids standing around it,who are too short to be seen. And you wont be turning left at a T junction any time soon if one of those is waiting to turn right.

It'll probably have that self parking technology,because the wrinkly idiot behind the wheel wont be able to park it themselves without 'touch parking' (yes its so rife there's a common name for it).

I see no inventitive design but for corporate styling,its probably a Ford or Mitsubishi underneath. Its otherwise the same space pollution all the other suburban tractors are - designed simply to make the high class slave housewife or small cock feel bigger about themselves at the expense of other road users.

its a Hilux.

The Mk1 Taro was just a rebaded Hilux in the 90s. I tried to buy one but they were mega rare

Is it not the 2st 4x4 pickup though? Its defo the 1st of that style (and that style of pickup has been around for years now)

There will be 3 drivetrain options if I remember right. Rear drive, semi-permanent and permanent 4wd.

you'd have to go for the rear drive one in white, get audi v10 in there, straight through pipes
