hey guys I'm new to the whole vw scene coming from classic minis and picked up my first vw today, a polo 6n its all standard atm so lots to do but its a cool project. here it is when i bought it

so plans for it are to lower it 60mm and get some g60steels or if i find the money some ronal turbos, take off the 1.4 badges and polo badge off the boot to start with. then get some 6n2 rear lights and some clear front lights. then later on maybe 16v bumpers. not really doing anything to the engine probs just get an iduction kit of some sort

yeah mine is going to be very similar to yours, looks so nice and looking at yours just made me realise that mine will look fairly sweet (not meaning to blow my own trumpet or anything). decided to go with ronal turbos 15/45/195's but still deciding if to go with some cheap coilovers or the spax dampers and springs. my brother has the spax on his mk2 golf with 40mm drop and apparently it handles awesome...and having been driving a classic mini with uprated dampers that had been lowered even more with metro turbo brakes i will be wanting something that handles pretty good... heard polos arent the best handling car though :p

Ahhh yeahhh ronal turbos are gonna look sweet on there! I have cheap raceland coilovers at only £160, this is my first car and the first car I've driven on coilovers so i don't really know much. But from how mine is since iv'e lowered it, it seems alright to me, its just quite a bit more bumpy and stiff on not so smooth roads, but it's no big deal really I quite like it

ah well bumps arent an issue the mini mayaswell not have had suspension it was so hard. and think i might just get some raceland coilies I've had my eye on them for about a week now but I've got plentyof time to sort some out and I'm now thinking ronals are a deffo on it aswell as 16v bumpers, just not sure if to go badgeless grill or paint the badge matte black. but like i said plenty of time to decide

Maybe paint it black first for a while, if you dont like it you can then get a debadged one and try that, or swap them over now and again lol.

okay then, I've been thinking through what I'm going to do aand looked about before jumping in and starting work and I've decided what I'm going to do:

first things first i took off the 1.4 badge and the polo badge

next thing is to get some passat steels (people say they are g60's, i want the ones with d shaped holes) 195/45/15

i then want some coilovers, just cheap lows probs the raceland ones because for the money they have good reviews

some induction kit of some sort

still undecided on the grill, going to experiment with it

I'm then going to get some 6n2 rear lights

some hid headlights and some clear lenses (some uuber clear ones aswell as indicator lenses)

..

all those points are definate things i will be doing. what I'm thinking about :

16v bumpers

different seats/interior (black gti interior of some sort)

1.8 20v turbo

but these are all big jobs so if i do it will be in a year or so

hmmm take it this would be less work ??? read somewhere that you have to drill something for 6n2 rear liights and ial have a look at the 16v lights never really seen them

Nah no drilling :)

You need to sand the lights down a bit, then cut a couple of wires - cant remember which ones but theres a good guide floating about somewhere, il try and find a link

Its all totally reversible, and not difficult

awesome mate. seen a few guides floating about and it seems easy enough. just deciding on coilovers though. I've had nothing but bad luck with my last car (old mini) and I'm thinking of buying some decent coilovers so putting about 500 into some just because i want some good quality ones that wont break. even though cheaper ones wont i just want something i can totally rely on if you know what i mean
