Right, so the car was inherited from my sister and seeing as the car came to me for free, iv tryed to keep costs to a minimum with styling the car.

So when i first got the car it looked.... awful to be honest.

The first thing to do to it was to get it off the steels. I found these Wolfrace for £40 which was a total bargin, although they did they did need quite bit of work to be acceptable.

After the wheels i freshened up the front end with clear indicators. £15

Next came the black rear badge for £5 and the 16v rear lights for £30. I also dewipered and debadged the rear.

Seeing as the car has still got plenty of black trim and the black badges i decided that black wing mirrors would suit.

So, a trip to the scrap yard later, new mirrors, £20.

The car sat like this for far too long until i finally found some ta technix for £165. Bargin i thought for brand new and delivered.

So with the coils it finally sat as it should.

Since then there have been a few more tweeks but thankfully they have all been free. Most noticeably the roof is now black vinyl which lucky my uncle did for nothing.

The next touch might not be to everyones taste but seeing as i made it myself, i like it. Its solid aluminium with a brass insert in the top. I did originally have polo mint engraved in the top, but it looked a bit tacky so i skimmed it off and kept it blank.

So after £275 its now sitting like this. I'm finally about happy with it.

The next plan is to get it on some new wheels, but i would like to be able to use the same tyres, at 14 inch. Any suggestions?

All comments welcome

Thanks for looking

Dan

Nah not at all. I'm going to take the rear a little lower but i cant take my mud flaps off at the back cos they're hiding a dint, so they already catch. i could get it down over an inch from where it is now.

Brings back memories of how my Minty was when we first got her (only her engine was hanging out too)

Love the colour, at least you don't see too many the same colour as yours.

I've always found that.

Keep up the good work anyway and keep us all updated on the progress.

tyres are a direct swap with the ones iv got on atm which is a bonus, just need to find a garage that will swap them over without damaging the finish on them

i got lucky with the colour if I'm honest. I was going to go for the traditional silver with black p's, but powder coating can only be one colour. Iv seen them in all black, and I'm not a big fan, but i didnt want silver as i thought it was too boring and couldn't be arsed to clean the p's all the time. So, middle ground it was, turned out for the best though!

Yeahh man, Love that last photo, looks really smart there

perfect colours together :p
