It has been a long time since i could drive anything else than an estate wagon, but now since my son is bigger i can finally consider a smaller go to work car again.

I am standing a bit beteen the polo 6n gti open air, or a standard lupo 1.4 16V. Both are in sweden about the same price range. Plus with the polo is that you most likley will get Air Condition and of course the huge sunroof which is pretty sweet during summer. 4 doors is of course also a good thing.

The lupo will not have air condition, but i figure it will run a bit cheaper. Something just drags me to the lupo, to me it is already a classic. how are the original speakers in the lupo?

Appreciate any help, main reason for a smaller car is to get a lower monthly cost, all it has to do is get me to work and the supermarket.

yeah we do, most of them are yellow, then we got some blue ones as well, Got the "nice" color concept interior as well. sun roof and ac really speaks for the 6n considering global warming...

Lupo Sports are more fun than the 6Ns we got in the UK but I've never had the plesure of a 6n GTi.

6n gti anyday lupos are abit to small and gay for my liking lol.

what engine came in the 6n gti, 1.6 16v? the same as the one they put in the 6n2?

the one we got in sweden is the 1.6 16V with 100 hp's unfortunatley not the one with 125 hp´s

problem with me is if i get something with a gti badge on it, i feel the need to chase others all the time....

Never had the 6n gti, but 6ns lack caracter compared to a lupo imo.

How ever the open air gti sounds cool, i would drive both and then decide.

lupo, 5 doors is not a good thing!

According to Wikipedia the Polo GTi had the 1.6 16v AJV code with 118bhp @ 6200rpm.

Then the ARC and AVY code engines used in the Lupo and 6n2 GTi had 123bhp @ 6500rpm.

I would get the open air as it alone has more character than the lupo....

i will drive one next week and then a lupo 1.4 16v as well, i suppose the the lupo has about the same performance as my 89 coupe s?

got best of both worlds and bought myself a lupo open air today, only the tiny 1,0 mpi enigine but it does the job for me, oh and it is lime green

yeah they are pretty nice and comfortable to drive as well to my suprise. Need a second mug holder and some ats classics :-)

even got the 4 airbag option

I've had loads of VWs including 6Ns and the Lupo is probably my favorite all rounder. Has all the modern toys you'd need but still feels like a go kart. Plus girls love them...
