Looks amazing Bro!!

Cheers dude :) I've got some major love for this thing again, even though i cant get the fucking exhaust on

Whats the problem? The mani that wont go or the exhaust itself.

Oil filter gets in the way... I'm leaving mine off till I've got the mani on.

Still a bitch to get past the arb, however its less of a bitch with the filter out the way.

Couldnt get the bloody thing to get past the arb and then the head, though i didnt wanna mark me rocker cover  thinking it might be easier to jack it up and feed it up from the bottom maybe...

What ARB you got on? Looks like a 4 speed?

  • Author

Nah, 5 speed dude, so probs just me, it was raining and i was rushing to be honest

MK2 5 speed maybe? Mines completely different.

MK2 5 speed maybe? Mines completely different.

What does yours look like? mine was originally a mk2f gt so 5 speed as standard, so surely i should be ok :s

Dude, try one of these ARBs:

stage2_frame.png

Had this crop up recentley with Ad's car- believe their are two different 5 speed ARB, botht he same thickness, but one has more clearance- also make sure the ARB blocks have the hole facing towards the front of the car, for maximum castor/clearance.

Love the rocker cover :-)

The blocks are the right way, so should be ok i reckon, just need to figure it out i think :) cheers for the heads up on the arb's though, may have to invest in another one if i can't make it work :s

And cheers, its made me have major love for it again, cant wait to get it running :D

I've got the symmetrical 5spd arb and it just sits against my raceland manifold. I had to jack her up and drop the front of the arb down and it was still a tight squeeze to get the manifold up. No chance from the top at all. Unless heads off.

Finished work just so i guess ill give it a go now i guess :)

Thats what mines looks like dude.

Think I'll get the mani in as I'm dropping the engine in. Was gunna fit it then drop the engine in, but i think it will hit the back of the subframe if i do.

The ARB is being a nice person on mine, got one side on after about n hour of faffing. Just the other side to get in. For some reason, it doesn't wanna line up with the holes on the ARB mounts for shit  Then again, i had this problem without the subframe,. it just makes it more difficult with as its another thing to get in line, aswell as me having to space it down to help the arb clear the mani.

  • Author

makes you wonder why we do it eh? i was gonna give my mani a go again, but got home from work and the fucking heavens have opened :(

<3 garage

If i could be arsed to clean mine out i could bang mine in there but its a bit tight so i sacrifice cover for workspace, right now, its not seeming like the best choice!

Lookin sweet bro

Looking really good mate, rocker especially!

I had/have the same ARB issues with my 4-2-1. I dropped engine, jacked up car and threaded the mani through from underneath.

Still sits on the ARB though so need to bend the mani... so far down the to-do list atm though!

Good Luck!
