Not being one of those people to tell you how to do stuff but you realise some numpty of here would have paid well over a grand for that car (if not more with a few choice bits of tinkering) before you cut the arches

There is hardly any metal taken off the arches, and they have been welded back up to the inner arch, then sealed properly, its maybe not as pikey as i made out as i want it to last! i also plan on keeping it, so tbh I'm not too bothered about it in the grand scheme of things, but yea, i reaslise i may have depreciated the value a bit, but apart from the tiger seal keeping the plastic trims in, its actually a tidy job and unless you actually feel underneath, youd never notice, its not like it looks like a piece of shit! but it was the only way to make the wheels fit like i wanted so thats the way it had to be done!

I may only have a few posts on here but I'm not a total noob to cars, I've built a mini and a 205gti from the ground up including engines and the like, total wiring looms, and the guy who helps me out when I'm stuck (the big bastard in the back!) is a mechanic so it all gets done right :)

Nearly bought this off ebay but the guy sounded dodgy as hell. Rang him first time, yeah jsut the indicator and boot have a dent mate.

Rang him back on the day saying I'm travelling a long way so please tell me all of its bad points. Said the car had two holes. one in each door, headlights wouldnt work unless you held them on and the bonnet was a mess. Decided i hadnt got the heart to go all the way to south wales to find it wasnt what i wanted. I'm very fussy though!

Didnt tell me it needed a new fifth gear either lol. Actually seems like a good lil GT all in all though now youve had a hand in it. Best of luck mate.

Cheers :) nah just taken some 2000 grit to it and t cut then polish, gonna give it a quick dust over though i think in winter when i put the engine in it, but i wanna get it on the road now! had it tracked up this morning and the exhaust sorted so it dont drag on the floor anymore so should be on the road this week!

It didnt need a new 5th gear at first but drove it home for 3hrs and my mate killed it! it just needed adjusting! haha. yea, it wasnt in great nick but i didnt pay what he wanted for it :p it just needed some tlc, that and some weller wheels :)

he offered to sell for 500 to me, looks wicked. ill be watching!

Finally an update!

Had an accident a couple of weeks ago where some taxi driver reversed into me then tried to blame me for driving into him. He smashed my wing to shit but somehow managed to miss everything else, eventually some guy wandered over who had seen the incident and took my side, which was good as i was getting a bit irate at him blaming me. Eventually settled on him giving me £100 and calling it quits. The upside of this is that i had already bought a new wing as mine was damaged previously and i was taking it off the road at the end of the week to start the engine conversion! Justice indeed :) i was gonna tell him to leave it, but when he blamed me i though fuck him! so £100 for nowt really. winner :)

On another note the stripdown is starting this week and thanks to robbodred sorting me out with a cheap afh as I'm skint at the moment :/

Bit more of an update folks.

Picked up the afh in the breadvan, ended up sittin LOW! great when there was speedbumps on the way out of the industrial estate...

Engine has been stripped and I'm currently trying to clean 10yrs worth of shit from it

Painted the rocker cover when bored the other night with some halfords black enamal paint

Then got my wheels back from robbodred who has kindly powdercoated them for me, and they look shexy, now just got to get some new tyres as being low has destroyed my others :/

AS for now, thats about it until friday when i get a day off and might get round to painting the block and starting to put it back together.
