Painted the block this evening which has come up ok (excuse shitty phone cam)

then started cleaning the scum ridden thing that was the gearbox, and it seems to be coming up pretty well, its just taking ages :/

the one off the afh, its a good box, so i figured id use it, that or i might use the one out of my gt, though i think ill have to rebuild 5th as it was a bit ropey and i doubt it will handle the extra power. dunno yet though

Iv heard bad things about using a GT box with over 100bhp,

They will handle the power of course, probably more so than the 6n box's, but the short ratio's don't do the power any justice as your forever changing gear, i would go with just a normal 86c 5 speed.

thats what i was worried about, and i think someone will be chuffed with a gt box and engine in one :) gonna run the afh one till it inevitably explodes all over the road then change it i reckon but ill have a look out for one of them as a backup then, i dont really know what I'm doing with regards to gearboxes, everyone seems to say different

Id love it to make that, better get me carbs set up nice and well, should sound fucking awesome either way though! that'd be nice, though with the amount your doing to it, it shouldnt be hard! have to go for a burn out when they're both done, i love the roads between me and sheffield!

I'm using the CEC box that i had on my spi and GT, until i kill it off

Saf tells me a G40 box or a box off a 1.6 8v would be best though.

G40 box's are hard to come by and when you do find them they are stupidly expensive. So the better one id say was the 1.6 box, be plenty of them about too i would have thought.
