Well it's being proved mate so no reason why you can't hit 130.

I'm aiming for 100bhp in the long run from my MH/GT hibrid.

Id love it to make that, better get me carbs set up nice and well, should sound fucking awesome either way though! that'd be nice, though with the amount your doing to it, it shouldnt be hard! have to go for a burn out when they're both done, i love the roads between me and sheffield!

Sounds good mate, I don't know why i didn't go for the same engine conversion, I think its something to do with the bulletproof-ness of the 86c engines, and the fact that its kept more original. Plus i wanted to try and get 100bhp from a 1.3 8v.

And toby  , Your such a doche, Go practice your hand writing :p

I'm using the CEC box that i had on my spi and GT, until i kill it off

Saf tells me a G40 box or a box off a 1.6 8v would be best though.

G40 box's are hard to come by and when you do find them they are stupidly expensive. So the better one id say was the 1.6 box, be plenty of them about too i would have thought.

I'll join you on the outing, we can both mince Max

Ill give it a go when i inevitably blow up the afh one  Looks like we'll have to organise a day out then!

That would be wicked as when you destroy someone and they ask what youve got, you can answer honestly with a 1.3 8v

Aye :-D

Yeah, thats the one thing i wanted.

what engines in that bruv?

1.3

Whaaaat? BS

Now its gunna be '1.6' 'oh, nice'

And max, my handwriting has always been wack tbh. I just make up for it in other departments :ninja:

Just lie and tell em its a 1.4 then

GT box and the standard AFH box have nearly identical ratios so GT box is fine to use, its what I have used

yeah, AFH box actually has fractionally shorter ratios than the GT

Depends what power is going through it though, as to weather ud wanna stick with the gt/afh box

Well its just a standard afh on weber 40's with a straight through exhaust so not that much, th 1.6 is next year ;)

I'm running a GT box on my carbed AFH and its fine. If you are doing long runs down the motorway perhaps an 8P would be better. But if you want a B Road/Track basher then its fine :)

Yea, just gonna be hooning around the back roads, hoping to avoid the potholes!

Got a bit more done today.

Finally cleaned the gearbox and painted it, then got bored and painted the inlet manifold and some other bits. Also ordered some gasket paper for the inlet manifold.

Then treated myself to a new tv, which in hindsight wasnt the best of ideas as i could have spent that money on more polo stuff, but black ops in 3d is pretty good :D

IMG_0662.jpg

Not an awful lot of stuff to get done now, thankfully!

Shopping list goes as such, if anyone can help with parts, it'd be appreciated!

Subframe and arb blocks

Boss for steering wheel

Tyres

Weber service kits and new jets

Stainless exhaust manifold

Mk2 Dizzy cap and ignition system

Fuel pump

As for the jobs list, i dont even wanna....

Quality lighting, i guess this is what we get for starting at about 3pm and waiting at the doctors for me for an hour :/

IMG_0626.jpg

IMG_0627.jpg

Engine out and in my garage if anyone wants it :)

I also have the worlds biggest engine crane to load it into a car which will be helpful!

IMG_0629.jpg

Space for a valver :)

IMG_0619.jpg

Also made an inlet mani for it

Thats about it for the moment, i still desperatly need a mk2 ignition system but thats about it for parts that i know of at the moment.

Aint it :) fully chuffed, he says its the only one that came out really good though :/

Dunno, working 2 jobs, and climbing sort of limits my time but hoping by halfway through next month :)

Also, might be getting some adjustable top mounts made up by my mate who works with some f1 team to adjust camber, so might be making a few sets up if you/others may be interested :)

Tempting on the top mounts.

Well hes coming over to work out angles and stuff next week, then hes gonna knock a set up for mine, problem is, they will only work with 60mm drop for exact camber as he'll need angles on bigger/smaller drops, but he's said he can easy work it out once the first set are done, and they'll be fully adjustable with a camber marker so you can see how much you're putting on :) and he'll have a good idea of price, so watch this space i guess :)

No more shredded tyres

Well I'm not gonna say no to that! feel free, ill even make you a brew :) Engine is going in next week hopefully, then just gotta rebuild the webers, find a mk2 ignition system and sort the fuelling and i can go get it rolling roaded :)

Then I've gotta get some tyres for the wellers and get it resprayed :/

What size tyres you after for the wellers?

I Know of a group buy going on Yoko A539's atm ;)

Works out about £40 cheaper than buying them even from camskill which is still cheaper than most.
