I'm not sure what you mean above but I have a similar problem where I turn the ignition to Point 1 and the starter fires straight away so there actually is no Point 1, it skips straight to point 2 and fires the engine.

Lol yeah checked all that and plugged in on Vagcom as well just in-case and nothing!

haha spent too much on this, doing my head in because its not working :(

brake issue is sorted now, just need to space the wheels to clear the caliper which in no biggie, just more expense...

any ideas when i can get a terminal pin removal tool ? gonna swap some wires around tonight see if i have any luck.

A good parts place will have one of them mate, maybe GSF. I got mine from VW

ill see if my local can get me one then, thyre usually pretty good cos i just swap parts from work

right then cowboys...get these pin tools, i use them and they do the job just fine:

Also...the ignition wiring doesnt sound to clever.

Wires coming out of the ignition switch on the polo 6N are:

black/yellow which go to the X contact relay (bottom left on a 6n2 on the relay holder)...it also goes to the headlamp switch.

red/black wire coming out of the ignition switch is the starter live wire. This wire is fused at fuse 24 in the box...it leads straight to the starter motor.

red/brown is the fuel pump relay (top left on the 6N2 relay holder).

black wire leads to both fuse 28 and 29 and goes into the immobilisor box-pin 3 i think.

grey wire goes to the headlamp switch as well and controls the parking light/turn signals.

brown/red wire no2 goes to fuse 16 on the fusebox and is the start/ignition fuse- this will most likely be a thin wire as it also goes to the headunit- switchable live.

red wire- this will be a thick red and is a live wire 30amp fused...

The X-contact relay is marked with the number: 100. Make sure this is correctly positioned in the relay carrier.

black/yellow on pin 3X,

red on pin 1/30,

brown on 1/35,

black on 2/75X.

normally i think the relay faces the right way up when fitting it, but i dont know if you've messed about taking the relay connectors out the back.

finally got the ignition to work as it should !

was a culmination of a faulty ignition switch and shit wiring, the black and red from the switch to the plug on the starter had been cut, and just taped back together :/

i dont know who on gods earth did this, but they need shooting and not letting near any electrical items again, let alone a car.

next on my list is getting the fuel pump to prime, it must be getting some sort of live to it, as the fuel gauge is working as it should.

my initial thinking is a bad earth, but ill check that out tonight

instead of pulling the plug off the pedal, the genius whos taken it apart has cut the wires and because they're extended, I've just got blue wires :/

ill take some pictures tonight... my only idea of finding which one goes where is to check the electrical resistance to each one ?

whats even more annoying, is that the pedal has 6 wires but there are 7 wires from the part thats been extended, although one is about 3 inches longer.

I feel your pain here......I bought a half extended loom bay loom for mine and it was the same :( only thing to do was trace it all the way back

Only just seen this mate...i'll get you the colours and pins tonight when i get in. Strip the tape off and you'll see different colours unless it has been extended further up the loom?

I know its the Aqua blue plug on the fusebox that feeds back to the ECU from the DBW pedal sensor connector.

any chace you can give me it in a simple terms as posible, the wiring is properly blagging my head

its extended from literally the ecu, think there's some little stubs of the old wire but ill have a look tonight

sorry mate, i know i can definately help you but just didnt get home till late last night...so had no time to check this out for you.

Off the top of your head...do you know if this is the wire:

Orange connector on BAM engine harness (should be same as APY)

pin 1 - grey/white to ecu T121/43 (229)

Does this wire come from the ECU and end inside your car behind the dash? I just need to find out what connects to pin 1 at the fusebox on the TT interior wiring diagram...

if you can confirm where this wire actually comes from...and where it ends...i can find out where its supposed to go :)

(I have a feeling its the K line diagnostic port wire)...i.e. for ODBII port and could be Pin 7 on the 16 pin black connector- just check the purple connector port you have and see if the wire is the same...then trace it back to the fusebox...then you know this wire coming from the ecu connects to this :)

I'm at a wedding this weekend and not back till sunday...so may not be much use to you after today.

comes from the ECU, theres to connectors on the ECU and its the side that goes onto the car.

starts off grey/white and then is spliced and ends up near the other blue wires that are for the pedal. (this is why i thought it must be to do with the accelerator)

I've put the other 6 wires where i thought they should be and the pedal still does nothing :/
