I thought so, they do "g40" ones on ebay.uk for about that much, I'm trying to find a standard looking pipe that's got some "zing" to it

Do you think you could drop me the link of the one you got? So i could see if its the same as the UK ones?

Turns out no-one makes 165/60/13s any more so to replace the fronts I have to get a whole set of 4 :S

max - I've got a stainless backbox that was custom made by double S systems down south, its a larger replica of the original mk2 tailpipe, probably never going to get round to using it! can send over pics if you want.

matt - get some smaller tyres for the fronts and leave the 60s on the back!

I put 65s on the back and put the 60s on the front, will go 65s at the front once I've raised it up to 40/30

loving the engine install mate very clean and tidy. I'm looking at buying a full conversion for my MK2 this week and was just wondering how much of a pain it has been to wire and keep tthe OEM ECU/transponder/fuel injection? I love the fuse box under the dash though thats well neat. can we get some more info on that?

yo cheers, got another minor update for the bay painted the rocker cover! bit of an oil leak though which is tarnishing the gloss finish, not sure what to do about it. think it's the camshaft oil seals on the cambelt side.... might be a nightmare to fix :S

the OEM ECU wasn't too bad. are you looking at using anything else wiring wise like electric windows? if not, the fusebox pattern you see in the photo is the wires you need to keep, trim off the rest and trace them through to the engine bay and get rid completely. It depends if it's early or late. Mclovin on here knows lots about the early loom, I know a bit about the late loom so if you do hav equestions we can help! You won't regret the conversion it is good fun and reliable with the OEM ECU.

car has been solid as a rock until this evening.

the garage that did the cambelt double-nutted the tensioner I made for the alternator, causing the bolt to shear. so I have no alternator drive at the moment and work first thing in the morning.... decision has been made that this car will be sold to someone who can look after it more.

taking offers on it as-is, recent MOT, does need some work but most of the hard stuff has been done. I just need something more reliable for 250 miles a week

www.vws.me.uk give them a try there a vw breakers but have got a shit load of spares etc . might be of no use but might be worth looking into . loving your breadbin, gutted your having problems with her

What do the three relays do? Could you get some pics of the fusebox how it is now please as I'm using same loom and having problems :(

I've had this car since february and will be selling it in the next few weeks, any interested jsut pm me :)

This project is scaring me about buying my breadie, it will be my first car and I literally know nothing about cars ( could take apart an aeroplane though haha)
