Alright guys, I'm Joey, only passed my test on April Fools day this year, took me a week or so to find a car with both the looks and low insurance(still 2k!). Test drove a few including a fiesta, 106, corsa etc.

I've been driving my Polo for 3 or so weeks and loving it! I know its only a 1l engine, but for most of the driving I'm never above 60odd mph.

I know mine is an odd colour, but it is a dream to drive! The interior is amazing compared to my mates Clio's, 106's, fiestas etc. Really comfortable and you can tell it hasn't been rolled out on such a budget.

One quick question: It is the E model, there is a light on the CD player(standard) for a CD changer, has the Polo E got one?(2000-X plate).

I've been hanging around looking at threads for a bit, thought it was time to get my car up! Don't let the colour put you off, she's a lovely car. Its 100% standard, and I'll probably leave it that way, its only 1l so I don't think it is worth spending loads on as I won't be keeping it for too long.

I belive your colour is called salsa green, very unusual colour

with regards to the cd changer, I don't think it does have one, it's usually under cd player if I remeber right :)

Stupid Q-Looked at the pressure guide on the petrol filler cap, given 30PSI to my memory?

But my tyres say 40psi, would you guys go for the recommendation of the tyre or the Polo itself?

I do mine to 2.0 Bar all round, recommended pressure is 2.1 front 2.0 rear which is 30 psi +/- 1 if my calculations are right

That'll be a max pressure limit on your tyre i think

My tyre pressure really differs to the car recommended pressure by 10psi, reckon I should just have them at the recommended factory pressure for the Polo?

i actually really like the colour mate, something a bit different :) you say you won't be keeping it too long, how long is that? :p and what do you plan to replace it with? i get the feeling that I'm gonna be keeping my polo longer than i anticipate just cos i love it so much!

Toying with the idea of some new wheels, will the alloys off the 1.4 go straight on or not? What size should I look at remembering it is not lowered at all.

Yeah all the wheels are interchangeable, providing they're not off a Polo made after 2002 (they're 5 stud)

Most of the 14 or 15 inch VW alloys would look good, better than the wheel trims anyway

And will either the 14 or the 15inch VW alloys fit? Assuming they are 4 bolt aye? I know the wheel trims look poor anyway!

Cheers mate! I will be doing something with the wheels, probably just some standard VW alloys as I'm a student with a part time job, how easy is it to lower? Is it new springs front and rear or can the rear just be adjusted by the torsion bar(like saxo's and 106's?).
