Featured Replies

Cops jus ruin your day when thy can. Was driving in the morning and got pulled up in my polo. They checked everything and gave me 3points and £60 fine. They say its to stiff...bunch of twats. They even tried doing me for having a lil stretch.

I'm considering an appeal now...

What you guys think and who knows what CODE 123 is (dangerous condition)

Whats too stiff?

They say its to stiff

LOL

Glad I wasn't the only one that laughed at that.

there is no way that a) this is true and b) they can prove it... if you have an MOT certificate done with the suspension on, then what can they do?

don't pay up, it is a sly way they get you to admit to being 'guilty'... scare tactics as most people will pay straight up!

Are your shockers/coilies TUV approved? If so and you've got the correct documentation i'd get down there like a shot mate and tell them what for.

Then they'll move onto the grey area of your stretched tyres so personally i'd just accept it. Technically they can give you 3 points per wheel for tyre imperfections etc so i'd just hold off.

But then again as you said its a grey area.....

But the fact remains that they didnt do him for stretch, they done him for his suspension so if he appealed against the suspension then they cant just turn round on a decision that has already been made and do him for the stretch when they didnt do him for it the first time round.

I'd just appear to be proactive. Ask them for the law on stiffness and show them it's TUV approved. Then contact the manufacturer of the coilies if still in warranty and sort it out that way.

well yes i have only been done for my suspension. Its a set similar to phil j's (not Hot tunning ones)...my brother had the same issue he appealed but he was pulled over 20mins after he had his mot done lol..so he appealed and they threw the case out...i see it as a way of making money.

As MartinB is saying dude, providing the coilies are TUV approved then they cant really say anything, as look at lambo's and ferrari's. Look how low they are, i know they are factory that low, but none the less yours is perfectly legitimat if you have the documentary evidence to prove that your suspensions is TUV approved.

Aswell as making mone, the were probably bored.

I've had it on the car for 4 years lol lots of digging to do for geting documentation. But yes when i had got them they were TUV approved. oh and apparently the sod goes that having no wiper washer fluid toped up is an offence.

damn man, you wouldnt wanna offend anyone by being a bit short on washer fluid..

when the popo get too anal with shit like this is just makes them out to be money making fuckers that are just picking peanuts out of poo.

what they've given you points for is fucking ridicularse and id definately appeal.

i got my 3 points last year for my poke which tbh was my own fault, my battery being slightly loose and a "worn" steering bush which conveniently couldnt be found, problem is he didnt state what was wrong with my car on the ticket, but i didnt stand a chance at appealing according to a solicitor. it was shit times.

I'm having a full-on rant now as it really winds me up when situations like this occur, when was the last time someone made a thread about how good the police are at thier jobs ?

good luck with it matey.

Clearly didnt get their jump the previous night

i'd like to know what calibrated equipment he used to check the stiffness of your shocks

i'd like to know what calibrated equipment he used to check the stiffness of your shocks

Yeah thats the point i would be making.

For noisy exhausts they need a decibel meter thing.

For tinted windows they put a light on one side and test how much light can get through.

You can see where I'm going with this.

welcome, i know man seems like they are killing the motoring community. like stiff suspention is a danger ??

sounds like he needs to loosen up and get laid, stop taking his job so seriously etc.. :)

his method of checkin as always i would assume is pushin the car to rock it. that musta got him a stiffy and goes you are suspension to stiff mate

I was thinking that  They have to make up their quota for the day somehow wankers. No wonder no-one pays them any respect these days.

I'd go intot he cop shop and ask to see a copy of the law where stiff suspension is illegal. God knows how many cars are like that these days and do they stop them? do they fuck. I know if they tried me for it i'd drive off.

As for the washer fluid, loose battery etc etc, again, they're talking bollocks and anyone that gets pulled over for such things should appeal it at their local police station as soon after they got stopped as possible. Most pigs arent even traffic trained and some dont even know what they're looking at half the time!

(i got stopped years ago - got given a producer for documents for a VW golf - i was driving a bready  )

afaik, the only fluid they can do you for if you run out is fuel and that might only be on motorways

Their typical first line to anyone is..'Hi there..do u have insurance to drive this car...' then comes the poping of the bonnet and turning of the steering. Bunch of wolops.

If i was to appeal guys and god forbid get convicted of it..what will i pay? double the fine cuz its late or addition court fees? anyone with any expernce on that sides?

that is ridiculous

seem's lately they have be haveing a bit of a crack down on pointless things to make more money.. like plates

and making up their own law's

the other week I got stoped in traffic and a jobsworth who was standing at the side of the road told me to pull over cus someone was smoking in my car next me

he was so dumb and when he relised he couldent do me for anything he said he could get me done for having to much pressure on the shocks, or some sort of bollox like that then let me go.

even tho have german plates on?? lol thats 4 times now that the copper has said if I were a traffic cop you would have a fine.. lazy nice people

but I'm not complaining, I even ofered to change them over there and then cus i got the others in the boot.

fuck them fight it

i got 3 points and a £250 for going through a red light it was on for 0.6 seconds before i went through it!

i took it to court and appealed.

they then basically made me plead guilty (which in a way i was but cudnt of stopped by any means )

because if i had gone ahead saying not guilty and then found to be guilty the court fines would have been

£850 and i would have 6 points which means i would have lost my license :crybaby: being my 1st 2yrs driving.

considering there method of findin out it was to stiff was to shake it is utter bullshit! if i was you i would appeal.
