Dude, this is happening to me. yo uneed to update the log book but its got to have a writen statement from a garage or a reciept for the engine.

Not sure dude, if they do a writen reciept then you might get away with that but if not theres a form they have to fill in, didi you look on the DVLA site?

update logbook.

if you are declarin on insurance it makes no odds.

its only if you wasnt declaring on ins you wouldnt change logbook for obvious reasons.

it will take u 10 mins to sort you are logbook to send it off, and will save u having void ins or whatever, dont be lazy

will it cost money to change it ???

2. open your v5

3. read your v5

4. do as v5 says

5. visit a postbox

6. wait

7. reopen when you get it back

8. legal

9. happy days.

It don't cost anything

Always best to update it any difference like colour, engine and what on the log book can void your insurance.

rang up the DVLA to and she said as above to just fill it in and send it back !!!!!!!,

and as its still under 1598cc still low tax i hope

low tax is below 1500cc, so you will now be at the higher rate

Buuut, it won't cost you anything extra, and depending on how its installed it may be difficult to pick up anyways... Can use a number of OE parts to make it looks like a standard install but fly like its definitely not factory.

Depends on your conscience and degree of social responsibility. And your bank balance i guess. Be in a fair bit of trouble if you get caught though id imagine?

Having said which, a member from here who will remain unnamed got caught doing over a ton in a 90+bhp GT... which was still a standard 1l fox on the insurance. It had no interior, chopped springs, and generally looked dangerous, but the police let him drive on after he burst into tears!

But far be it from me to condone you breaking the law. Stay safe, use protection.

OMG name & shame FTW TBH...

Nah it was a couple of years ago who gives a shit, fact remains you generally will get nicked but there are times when you don't, and id imagine that not everyone on here has declared every detail of their car either, which is pretty much the same thing - one small item or the whole lot, it still voids the insurance.
