These have only done approx 6k miles and are £300 odd new. They go down over 100mm but not sure on exact figure. In this pic they are very dry and dirty looking.

Since then have taken them apart, cleaned and painted the non threaded parts and put them back together with new grease on them. No way they will seize up again and they are great shocks. Always run them on my cars and never had a set go bad.

From a mk2 so will go on jetta as well and beleive they fit mk3 and rados as well?
