all french cars are crap in my opinion, i pass most of the little scrotes on my way home from work reving the crap out of there rotbox and I'm just crusing in my derv estate thats on the floor. u shouldnt worry what boy racers think of your 1l as most of them wont be on the road in a few years

I know for a first driver you wanna think your fast as fuck and race all the time but thers no way of getting around the fact that most polos are slow, unless you get a valver or gt etc.

I dont get it? one thing everyone should know is i cant even drive yet haha :p my car will be on coilovers so should have more of an advantage round corners :p

I drove a 1300 aircooled Beetle for 4 years before getting my 1.0 Polo. As such, the Polo felt like a missile in comparison.

I don't have this problem with my mates, since most of them are into aircooled as well, meaning my Polo's on about the same level as them performance wise!

You only have to sit inside one to notice and feel the huge quality difference, just closing the door on a 106 and a polo really shows the difference there is.

and to all you 1.0 litre owners, your car has more torque than a 106, 206, saxo, and peugeot 207 s, gt and gti, i know cos i went flyin past a 207 gt and I've kept up with an alfa 147 2.0 t spark which is bloody quick with sum1 like my dad driving

that's not actually true though mate, the VW polo is built in Spain by Seat, infact so are some Audi's meaning that people pay good money for a car built by people who make budget versions of VW's

and no 1 liter polo's do not have torque, if you want to know what torque feels like i'll take you out in my jetta

You must be mad then. I had a mk1 clio as my first car an it was wicked. I loved it and i took a 1.8 16v on a spin an that was a lot of fun, all day over a 1.0l polo that looks 'cool'.

I love most VW cars, but i dont get how people are saying there better then all french shitboxes. makes no sense.The only way you'd be able to tell any real difference is if your a real driver and have a good feel for cars, not jus red lining.

Its funny you say that though cos most french cars were galvinised since about the mid 90s, polos of the same era arent so side by side a 95 polo will be more rusty than a 95 pug and my v reg polo has rust whereas my v reg 306 had none even though it had done twice the mileage.

No if you want to feel torque you should of had a ride in my pug, almost 300lb/ft in a stripped out car.
