To be fair, 6Ns are shite all round. There ugly to look at, interiors are diabolical, they rust for fun, they only came with one good engine and when they are 'done up' they all look the same. FK powerlooks, smoothed 16V bumpers, 6N2 rear lights, coilies and some dishy 14/15s.

I'd much rather have something like a 106 Rallye or GTI. They look a lot better, the interiors are crap but really on something like a Rallye you'd want to strip it out anyway. They are more fun to drive as well.

Ideal car is a S2 106 Rallye with a GTI motor in it.

I've kept up with an alfa 147 2.0 t spark which is bloody quick with sum1 like my dad driving

just find that torque cos its there!

was this T-spark parked up at the time?

and no 1 liter polo's do not have torque, if you want to know what torque feels like i'll take you out in my jetta

I can vouch for McLovin's Jetta, it goes like stink (literally lol)

only problem is, rallye or not, you'd have to tell people u drive a pug 106

i was gonna buy one when i was 18 as i got a good quote off quinn-direct, went for a corsa sport 1.6 16v in the end though. a lot of that was to do with the fact that the rallyes were overpriced to FOOK imo

Rallyes still hold there money. I'd have no problem saying I own a 106. To be fair you tell met people your into VWs and they expect you to get on your high horse about it. After all you can't say one manufacturer is better than any other cause it's all subjective to you personally. VW people deffo seem to be the most arrogant about it though.

very true

Some guys was moaning about my Mk3 gt rep a bit ago sayin

haa look at you driveing your old vw piece off shit

i turned round and said at least it aint french and i put money on it that it will out live your 106

then they shut up

week later seen him with bonnet up water all over floor on the car park went over and said ohh dear and he just bluntly ignored me

:-D

i had this problem for 3 years,.... now look what happened peer presure is a bastard mate.

allthough I'm with kam on this one

106 gti/106 rallye awsome bit of kit!

nippy handle well and look fantastic.. polo's are box's with shit curves...

I don't get this 'low n slow' business.

Clearly 'low n fast' is better?

I used to have about 270 break in my Leon Cupra R and I never put my foot down because I was scared of losing my license. Before you shift out of third your doing 3 figures. It was a very competent car - went, stopped and handled like nothing else, but not much driver involvement tbh and stupidly expensive to run with the Vpower, £150 front pads, £100 a tyre etc

Now that I've sold it and bought a 1.3l mk2 I'm happy as a dog with 2 dicks. It's more fun to drive and you can give it the beans and still not be breaking the law!

If you ask me it's all about driver involvement. Beating other people is not where it's at, there will always be someone with more money than you. If it puts a smile on your face then keep it.

And for the record I would take a 106 rallye over any mk4 tbh.

I get the odd bit of stick for my 6N2

But its not a French piece of crap, its not the usual French 106 crap, or the new corsa C craze. I know I've got a solid German motor.

Sorry but the name VW stands up high against Peugeot, Vauxhall and Renault!

You only have to sit inside one to notice and feel the huge quality difference, just closing the door on a 106 and a polo really shows the difference there is.

so true, before my dub i had a punto, same year and it was a 1.2, My polo 1.0l now is a better car to drive, looks nicer and is generally a nippier car, let them race and waste petrol. I know i had a decent built car and a car what has a huge scene to it

I have only been driving for 2 weeks now and i picked my 1.4 polo up last week and the first time i drove it i thought it was very nippy and i really didnt expect it to be as fast as it is.

I really standard and has rust and all the boy racers in there 1.2 corsas and 1.4 saxos look at it and expect it to be a snail.

But most of them get a shock when it leaves them sitting at the traffi lights.

I love 6n polo's

Low and slow is cool

But if you have the money to do it then low and fast is even better.

Nothing quite beats the sweeping lines of a vento eh.

Which engine is that? Must be the 1.9 diesel one :-D
