Do these go through the amp, or just come straight from the head unit?

umm as far as i know no but if u ask a couple of people on here they should shed some more light

amp will give them more power than a headunit can deliver,more power equalls more sound

depends on what power they handle in regards to a suitable amp.i find components sound much better and crisp compared to 6 x 9s tbh,plus they can fit easy in a door or panel without looking out of place

yeah, i learned this after i got all the speakers and stuff, and i don't have the money o effort to change it all.
