Comments:

I got this car in April 2010 and the first job was getting it serviced and the cam belt changed. I had a lot of de-chavving to do to the car to make it respectable, not least getting rid of the plates and those gash wheels. I have decided that my spending limit for the car is about £3000 as I'm not going overboard on this one, I need to save for a house and I want to get back into owning a fast car. I have just been finding bits that I like the look of and I know work.

Plans:

VR6 leather interior

15mm spacers for the rear end (ET9 FTMFW)

Full exhaust system including manifold and sports cat

BMC DIA induction kit

Possibly cams

Decent chrome angle eyes with 10k HIDs

Bigger brakes, possibly a set of 4 pot callipers.

When I got it (pics with my old car)

Alloygators now removed, boot painted and coilovers on order. Will do a proper update next wekend

Boot is now painted (badly), got runs on the last 2 coats then ran out of laquer after half a coat (thought i had a full can).

Anyway all it needs is flatting back then lacquering and itll look tidy.

The other thing i decided to do was remove the little pressed out circles that the plate is supposed to sit on as it means the plate sits about 8mm further out in the middle and i wanted mine flat. I just drilled loads of holes round them and them broke them through.

Anyway piccies

LOL you should notice me now that I'm low but I'm rarely in Hayes, I only come here to sleep, raid the fridge and fix the car.

Anyway got the front lowered today, loving the raceland coilovers cos the bottom holes are slotted so you can dial in some camber, looks proper cool.

I think shes about -75mm at the front and -85mm at the rear but she still needs to come down more, probably another 15mm at the front and 20+mm at the rear. I need to do some trimming to bits inside my arches before I can go lower though.

Also fitted Greenstuff pads pagaid discs, new top mounts, new drop links, changed the oil and filter again and topped her up with 5w40 fully synth

So piccies

do u get any rubbing on them wheels ???

Yes but remember I'm running 195/45R15 tyres, it would be different if you ran with stretch

Anyway all 4 arches are rolled

All arch liners removed

Edges of bumpers cut off

Adjusted metal work inside the arches (hammer and angle grinder)

And its now ready to go lower when I get some C-spanners

Got myself a Longlife custom exhaust made today as the side exit was catching on everything even when it rolled too much into a right hand bend.

For £250 i got a full stainless cat back system with a 2" bore and a single small straight through oval silencer and a small oval tail pipe

i cant see a standard 1.4 8v doing 0-60 in 10 seconds. 0-60 time on a polo out of the factory is about 14s.

10 seconds

can you count? I've had a 1.4 8v, and i can tell you its not 10 seconds....

Really like this polo, propa nice and simple. Only thing is....looks exactly like mine :( ahahaha dw thats a good thing :p

Gorgeous car. Perfect mods so far. Def one of my favourite 6ns. Wish mine was black now!

P.S - thanks for your previous post with advice on fitting 6n2 rear lights onto a 6n the easy way. Your post persuaded me to do it on mine at the weekend 8-)

Looking sweet bro :)

hiya mate....car looks tidy enough, shame that your selling up, what you planning on getting??

question though - how does the car differ with the chip and exhaust?? I've thought about getting one of poloaces chips on my valver

Exactly how I'd have one. I'm saving up for another polo at the moment and this is my inspiration. I even have those exact wheels sat in my garage waiting. gonna go for some lower profile rubber though
