got the car to a stage where i think its photo worthy so here's a few teasers of how it currently looks... smoothed bumpers and stamped plates in the next month or so - so watch out !

having a bit of trouble with uploads atm, says that I've already used like all the upload room ? although i thought this should reset with a different post? will look into it...

Go to www.Imageshack.us or a similar website like photobucket to upload pictures. Using the forum software always means you have problems!

you may see arch gap, but theres no light showing through between the exhaust and the ground ! needs to come up about another 20 mm in order to be practical... thanks for the comments and will get on some more piccys soon !

Just to let you know dude if a copper pulls you over the two rears are illegal....if your lucky youl get away with £60 fine and 3 points if you unlucky it will be double points and fine as each weel is a seperate offence. Should get some camber on them to get the tread underneath the arch.

But unfrotunately i dont think 6n2's can pull off 13's was going down this route myself, just sold the compos i had to go on the car and was regreting it a little but I'm glad you put this pick up as it reassures me i made the right choice.

But none the less dude sweet car, just needs bigger hoops!!

i thought just as well would a stretch not do the job ? about the poke thatis and make them legal ? i can always lift up the coils... thanks for the warning anyway, i wasn't sure and just stuck up a thread about it

That would be some serious stretch to get those under the arches dude, the poke so much isnt illegal as its a grey area in the law, some coppers will pull you for it and give you grief, others will just look at it and not bother you, its the tread that is the problem. If the tread isnt underneath the arch then you will be producing alot of overspray in wet weather for the car that is travelling behind you.

But to get decent rubber for stretch you looking at £200+ plus this will have a negative effect on handling characteristics. Whereas camber shims cost you £20 and the fitment yourself and it will have a positive effect on handling characteristics.

i'd have to disagree with rear camber for positive affects on handling this is from experience.

are we talking oversteer i'd imagine ? i think i've seen these for sale but would you recommned any personally ? plus will having camber not eatmy tyres quicker ? like ALOT ? if it is the solution then is there any point in me getting the fronts camber sorted as then it might leave me withthe same problem ? sorry for the q's :p

i ran camber all round on the 6n2 and the handling was impecible......alot better than it is now on the 6n2 I've got whith no camber. The only problem was it was abit twitch on the straights.

But a clear example would be touring cars, they run camber on both rear and front as to improve handling characteristics.

Before anyone says that they are going round a track and not a road, i know, but none the less in the bendies when i had camber running all round, the handling was immense, but on the straights i just found it far too twitchy.

Whats the et on the wheels dude, well with 1.5 - 2 deg of negative camber then you shouldnt notice a massive difference in tyre wear, it will be slightly uneven, but by the time the tyres need changing due to wear on the inside edge, you will find the outside edge wil not be far behond.

Its when your running really 3 deg or more you start notice it eating your tyres. Also you will want to get the tracking sorted with your camber none the less. As if you keep the camber but dont do the tracking, then if your tracking is out, coupling this with camber then your going to have insanely uneven wear.

No didnt pull from side to side, the steering was just sensitive that was all dude, very responsive.

The camber shims will defo get rid of that tread i recon, as you can adjust them from anything between .5 deg - 5 or 6 deg i think. But in my honest opinion dude, i think you should sell the 13's, youd get 400 for those easily and by yourself either a set of 14's or 15's as 13's just cant be pulled off on the 6n2 as the arches to big for them.

Camber Shims

I know it says mk1, mk2 and mk3 golf, but these fit a polo 6n and 6n2 aswell dude.

Defo get tracking done all round fella.

to be honest buddy i think I'm gona try it for this year until winter perhaps (with shims that is) and then put em up for grabs then i agree there probably too small but its the look i love ! are the shims sort of 10 minute job expensive/cheap ?

Yes dude i believe the kit has two shims, so one for either side.

And if thats the look you love then go for it dude,each to their own.
