MK3 AFH Project

Featured Replies

Now sold most of the G40 stuff out of my MK3 and instead of converting it back to a GT I fancy jumping on the AFH bandwagon!

After witnessing max_crox's MK2, I knew it would be a good choice.

Stages of the car over the last few years:

As I got it:

Few mods as a GT still:

Made the big jump to G40T:

Its current state

Plans are to run an AFH on carbs and use some of the random bits I have left over.

First off I need to clean out the engine bay and tidy up the loom, then get me an AFH lump 8-)

Its still running H&R suspension and G-ladersite ARB's so that can be left as it is for the time being.

Just secured a CNC'd SS inlet from the group buy.

Does anyone know can I use a G40 clutch and G40 flywheel on the AFH engine?

you can but you need the elusive late mk3 starter

welcome to the AFH club

What is the best thing to do regarding the loom?

What parts of the GT loom do I need to use??

saf has done a great thread in the engine section FAQ, every thing you need to know should be there mate

I you can.. I would use the Mk2/3 flywheel.. its a hell of of a lot lighter that the Mk4 one
