i have a steal blue polo which is most likely going to be resprayed, problem is its just going to be a different shade of blue.

do i need it to be declared on insurance?

Also the log book just says blue, so i'm assuming that i don't have to change anything on the log book.

finally, if i was to buy bbs ra's, could they be declared as an optional extra or aftermarket alloy?

Any help is much appreciated.

Cant say for the colour as I dont know that one.

The alloys can be declaed on insurance as aftermarket - I know that most have a option to say you have alloys on.

Hi George, yes you do need to declare the colour change.

Is it likely to make a big difference to the cost?

ok I'm usually a declare everything man but in my mind the colour falls into the "modification or maintainance?" question to me if you are doing it to maintain the car then it would be like putting on a different colour bumper if you have a little bump! not classed as a modification but looks different colour wise to original! if it comes up on anpr on the police records it says blue, not "slightly metalic silvery blue" so they wouldnt bother you and in the event of an accident would they take samples of the paint off and test it to make sure its deffo the correct paint code?? i dont reckon!

Thats exactly what I thought, and i imagine its exactly the same with the log book surely, it only says blue.

i askedmy dad the same question with the log book , and he said you dont have to. mine also says blue and is being sprayed a slight;y diff shade.
