After having my seams stich welded in my engine wire wheeled the area to remove any rust and dirt then I used hammerites krust and used pu seam sealer the gun type to seal the seams got a bit carried away trying to make it neat and ended up putting loads of sealer on it.

I then left it 24 hours and sprayed it with etch primer only then to relise it was still tacky and the primer wrinkled and cracked on the sealant so today I riped it all of using a mixture of a cloth wire wheel and lots of thinners!!

So now I've exposed the seams to bare metal and don't want a repeat of what just happened what would you guys suggest to use as seam sealer brush on stuff or some more gun applicator style stuff but maybe some quick drying sandable one ?? And most importantly should I use the rust remover first still or just seam seal straight on the metal then prime over it ?

i use brush on stuff, never really bother using fast drying
