Hi, Fancying running some orange sidelights on my 6n, I was wondering if there's a law saying what colour sidelights have to be? I know they can't be red or blue, but I think orange might be OK?

Its a grey area to be honest. BMW fit those orange LED lights in their headlights.

I would imagine 99% of the time you will be fine

My biggest worry though would be someone seeing the orange, thinking you are indicating and pulling out on you.

also, as a general rule, LED side lights are illegal (as in, they'll fail an MOT) but the PoPo aren't usually too bothered.

i also think they must emit either white or yellow light (iirc) but i'm not sure on that.

Volvo's run them too, but I think they're classed as 'running' lights and you probably still need normal white side lights for legality..

yeah, i'm not sure what the craic is with them. Might ring the police? as i don't want an illegal car and also don't want them asking questions, haha.

I didn't in the end, I've realised my uncle's a traffic cop, lol, so I'll ask him next time I see him!
