I'm gonna try and paint a bootlid today as the weathers soo nice and wanted to clear a few things up as i keep reading contradicting guide.

atm its in primer and I'm going to be using indigo blue (pearlescent) rattle cans with clear laquer.

So first thing is to rub down with 400 ithink?

Then clean and dry and spray thin coats or thiock coats? with paint with 15 minutes drying time in between. apprx 4 coats or until its covered?

Then do i wait the 24 hours for it to dry before rubbing down with 1000 and laquering 3 coats? some people say laquer when the last paint coat is tacky?

Then rub down with 1500 and polish it up

I just wanna make sure I'm doing it right as this is the first time I've done it and may wanna do some other bits and bobs :)

rub the primer with 800 wet

decent wet but not silly basecoat until its covered ...straight on with the clear after 15 mins , do not sand the basecoat

after a week or two 1500/2000 and polish

should be okay..make em nice n wet , more wont hurt if you plan to polish it
