I'm getting some of my vento steels banded soon which are currently 6J

dose 7J fit on the front of a mk3 .. and would 7.5 fit nice on the rear

I've gone 60/40 ... reackon its a go-er

i had a mk3 coupe lowered 100 front and back and when i put 14s on front they sat just on the wheel arch so you might be ok. as for the back, they were 14x6 and tucked right up into the arch so not too sure unless u put a hard suspension on?
