What the law on displayin the registration plate on the front of the car?

Does it have to be on the bumper or can it be in the window?

You can get away with it in the window if you get pulled by the same fed more than once they will do you, but they hardly pull you over because they assume your plate fell off..

if your gonna take it off you may as well just throw it in the boot, and if police say anything just say the plate was lose and the bolts are knakered so your getting some new ones.

Actually lol'd at the sunstrip idea. You may as well get your registration tattoo'd accross your face, that way you could just slap yourself on the forehead whenever you go through speed cameras to make sure you don't get caught.

Is a sunstrip in front of the front axel? No so its not legal.

Been pulled for this before when i was funny enough popping to halfords to get some new screws for my front number plate! Wasnt till i showed them the bumper i'd just removed (was a bloody awful jap stylee thing that came on the car when i brought it!) they understood.

i got myself a new set of plates made up (all legal and all that boring shit)

2 questions:

1) How do i go about disposing of my old ones

2) i've removed the reflective yellow backing from one of my old ones (so the plate is transparent except the lettering)... what's the law on running my clear plate?

Clarification: The clear plate is in the hall way at home so i'm not running it atm but if it's legal, it might find it's way onto my car or maybe (if i ever go to) a show plate

I'd smash the old ones up into a few pieces and if I was really paranoid put one piece in the bin each week, or put a piece in the bin at work etc.

As for clear plates... well I'm not going to look it up but I'm pretty sure the reflective background is a requirement so it'll be illegal.

i've seen worse... trust me.

there was a car displaying this (like driving round with it on) and you couldn't make out ANY of the letters on the plate some were italic, some were backwards italic and you just couldn't read anything!

for example, if it was AB51 CDE the A would be italic and the B would be backwards italic and just continue in that pattern till the end.

when i say italic, i actualy mean, rotated at 45 degrees

That can't have been legal... i would have reported them for it... if i could read the number plate!
