well i dont realy want it for high speeds i wanted to go for good acceleration

It's not for speed, but to make the most of the engine. I'm suprised you even need 1st, or second really :?

Still, is it fun to drive?

This looks amazing, given that it had such humble beginnings too - what are your plans for the interior of the car?

No plans for the interior I like it as it is maybe change the steering wheel but I like it to stay looking retro

I agree, should have been a bit more clear, I kind of meant what is it like inside - are you going to need to re-cover the seats, get some new padding / dash bits etc

Mine is in pretty good state, but if I had the time + money I'd very happily get some new seats etc in it

Retro is best though :D

seats are quite good condition in this one and generaly the whole interior is ,only thing i would do is maybe recover the door cards as the passanger side meterial has come un stuck.

iv just been filling the beast up with coolant and oil but I'm not to happy as i bought a brand new thermostate housing with thermostate all ready in it and they had not put in a rubber O ring so coolant pissed everywhere ,damm GSF but i took the old O ring from the old engine and its fine now.

weber pedal block came today so managed to finish off the throttle set up.

I don't know about the mods you guys do, is there a 5 speed box available for the mk2s, I always wished I had one. Just glad to see her still going, all the local ones round here have all slowly disappeared. :/

Can't wait to see her again some day. :D

yeh some mk2's have 5 speeds i think the 1.3's had them but not sure.

Some 1.05's and some 1.3's had them. Don't know if it was something do with the spec or what!

having some problems tonight seems starter motor now turns over fine with new battery which is good ,but now i notice i must have a blockage in the carbs as no fuel goes into them it just passes back to the tank , i am using 2 T peice's but duno if I'm doing somthing wrong I'm going to have a proper look at the carbs tomorrow.

  • Author

dun the timing tonight and realised i plumbed in the fuel hose to the carb over flow instead so thats y it didnt work.

so now it starts so i can wire in the fuel pump and fit exhuast manifold properly.

hows it running dude?

your results depend on me using an AEE

  • Author

well i cant tell yet as i need to sort out the exhaust manifold studs before i can properly fit the manifold ,then i can leave it running and see how it runs.
