You've underestimated the torque, you need longer ratios or you'll just spin all your power away.

I tried a 1.0 box and was wheelspinning effortlessly and by accident in 3rd, whilst 2nd was only any good for pulling away from a standstill.

And 70mph was hard work,because it was too responsive to hold a steady speed - you need low revs at that speed to soften it down.

need to change the jets in the carbs as only ticks over with full choke also need to sort out oil presure switch

wired up fuel pump from the coil ignition live to a switch in the car.

G40 back box in the post tho it seems like they are hard to get, none of the major motor factors had a g40 exhaust even listed. seems ebay was the place for me.

bought some 160 jets for my carbs and had a little play with it today and seems to rev up nicely now and ticks over great with no choke.

i also earthed the yellow oil pressure sensor and connected the blue one this has stoped the oil buzzer going of.

yeh all is going well only problem is the exhaust as the manifold was custom made from an old one my mate had so will be alot off welding need.

you know theres a blank for the choke to the left of the steering wheel ??

yeh but I'm quite big so my knees would touch there and thought it might get anoying lol

i have the same choke mechanism as you but put it where the blank is, it doesent stick out much tbh only on full choke, i haven't had a problem with my knee hitting it

depends how you have your seat i ges ,i like being close as possible to the steering wheel

cant do much ontill exhaust arrives so re attached bump strip on drivers door with 3m trim tape.

wheels and brakes are now on.

started fitting the g40 exhaust tonight then the heavens open just my luck

exhuast is now on looks really good I'm very happy with it, sits lower at the front aswell now looks good. still need some tuning before i can get it through an mot so i dont think il be going bugjam in this which was my goal.

update carbs are off again as I'm re making the manifolds to space them correctly seemed air was getting and running abit ,and got some heat wrap for the exhaust .
