Hot Weather TIPS too keep cool?

Featured Replies

Hey, just wanted any suggestion you guys might have for keeping cool in this heat :S for us poor souls that dont have a/c

Keeping your windows down is obviously the best one, but if travelling on motorway or you have wind-up windows like me is a bit of a PITA!!

My fan just not cool enough to use.

Thanks for all suggestions :D

drive slower, windows down, sunglasses on and just enjoy the weather!

I've got a pop-up sunroof on my mk3 which is about the only thing you can have open at speed without getting too windy/draggy, cools you down a little bit! Other than that having both windows open just an inch or two is not too loud and gets some air flowing. Otherwise as max says or sweat it out!

wind deflectors help a lot for reducing wind noise

Windows open, head sometimes out of the window. As for the noise. Well my car doesn't like going more than 55, so thats rarely an issue haha.

As for an actual tip. Well you could fill your screen wash with water. Aim the washer jet thingy on your bonet to the side. Then every now and again stick your head out of your window and give youself a little spray.

Have a freezing cold bath / shower before you go out in all your clothes. You'll stay cool and be dry when you arrive at your destination :D

windows up and heater on full, see how long to you pass out :-p

Shades are a must. Been blinded many a time by bright sunshine.

Sitting on bags of ice cubes would work although it would make you nuts go numb :(

Lool, so jokes reading some of the replies, hmm, shades seem to be the way to go, butt i wear glasses so will have to invest in some precription ones so thats more £££. I would add air con to the car but tbh its a lot of effort for someone really not mechanically minded, I'm more of a computer mechanic =P wouldnt' mind paying someone to do it thou ?? Does tinting you are windows help that much?? its about as expensive as some decent sunglasses LOL

Thanks Again :)

I have some mini reusable ice packs that I attach to my dashboard vents on hot days, with the fan on.

Pikey budget air-con FTW. :D

I just have the sunroof wide open, windows all the way down and i'm fine. Give a fuck about wind noise? Just turn the music up.

A nice cold beer.

Disclaimer: I do not advise the use of alcohol whilst driving

Non alcoholic beer ftw.

It actually works.... for about 10 minutes, then the ice packs have melted, the car's hot again and you've got a wet washboard.

not joking i have 1 sunburnt arm atm lol

open the dash vents (but don't turn them on) and open the sunroof. Pulls it through lovely and cold!

If you don't want the drag then cut a hole in the drivers floor that you can block off with your foot to go faster (mclaren f duct stylee :D )

Get the Portable shower from top gear that Clarkson used :D
