Hi All,

I'm very sorry if this has been asked before.

To get cheaper insurance i was going to get my dad to insure my car and i go on as a named driver...

However, He lives in Cornwall and i live Birmingham.

In short is it still legal for me to do this? As all the information will be legit... but i guess i wont be able to get any NCB this time round...

Can someone please advise if this is correct for me to do... As as far as i'm concerned you can state the other driver (named driver) used the car often.

Yep, I do this with mine and my dad lives 140 miles away in london. To be fair I do visit him frequently and he uses my car sometimes. They will find it difficult to prove he never drives it, and even if they do, just claim that you wanted it "just in case"

Thanks for that... Just going to save me like £800! Plus i can get fully comp.

Just don't want the hassle if anything goes wrong. I also visit my dad often...

might just call a few companies tomorrow and see what they say.
